The Sony FX30 is paired with an all-new back-illuminated APS-C Exmor R™ CMOS sensor (Super 35mm format), delivering exceptional results with high sensitivity, low noise, and wide dynamic latitude. The result is a powerful and portable video camera that is capable of impressive content creation, whether you are capturing your everyday life or taking your first step into more professional filmmaking. Thanks to its ability to harness oversampled 6K footage, the FX30 delivers 4K UHD footage with unprecedented resolutions. The FX30 provides exceptional low-noise imaging throughout the broad ISO range of 100 to 32000 and it offers 14+ stops of dynamic range.

Video Formats for Various Purposes

As well as 10-bit 4K UHD footage at up to 120fps using a 1.6x crop, the Sony FX30 can utilise full pixel readout to harness beautiful 4K60p video footage. For the purpose of producing great slow-motion footage, this camera can record Full HD 240p video footage. A HDMI port is available, with which users can output 16-bit RAW video to separate video recorders.

Fast Hybrid AF & 5-Axis IS

To deliver a workflow that is suitable for various purposes and subjects, the Sony FX30 includes both Hybrid AF and built-in 5-Axis Image Stabilisation. The AF system of this camera is available in all the different shooting modes and it utilises 495-points across 90% of the image sensor, resulting in blistering pace and incredible accuracy. Real-time tracking and Real-Time Eye AF are available, making it easier to film both humans and videos in various situations, with pleasing results. The 5-Axis IS system of this camera results in smooth and steady video footage, even when you are shooting handheld, and an active mode is available, which combines optical and digital stabilisation systems for truly remarkable results.

The Sony FX30 is incredibly portable and lightweight when used alone but it also features various points of connectivity, so it can slot seamlessly into more professional and advanced workflows. As well as a multi-interface shoe, this camera includes multiple threaded mounting points, both of which can be used for connecting the FX30 with the best accessories to get the best content. Other essential features of this exceptional camera include an easy-to-use zoom rocker, an active cooling fan for extended shooting times, and a wide range of connectivity options (full-size HDMI, micro USB, TimeCode, 3.5mm Mic & Headphone ports. For storing its high-resolution video files, the Sony FX30 features dual CFExpress/SD memory card slots, allowing users to develop a workflow that best matches their situation.

Advanced Picture Control

With the Sony FX30, you can produce high-quality video results that are immediately ready for sharing, or set up for more advanced projects that require additional editing. The latter is possible thanks to the S-Cinetone colour space, which is on loan from several of Sony's more advanced video cameras. Other important additions in this field include S-Log3 and HLG colour profiles, and the Creative Looks that allow you to add character and feeling to your work, without no additional editing required.
