About Us

Ted’s has always been first to bring new technology to the Australian market. Back in the 1970’s we introduced Australia to the first SLR with a built-in light meter. In the 1980’s we introduced the country to the first video cameras and in 1994 we were the first to bring you the digital camera. Today we’re introducing the latest fullframe mirrorless camera , drones and gimbals that are destined to revolutionize picture taking. When you buy a camera from Ted’s, you can be sure you’re choosing from a range that includes the latest and greatest the world has to offer.

Polaroid Land

More than 45 years of Ted’s

Back in 1970 when Ted opened the doors of his first camera shop, Polaroid was still making news with instant cameras that featured self-developing film. Over the years we've seen a lot of technology come and go. But one thing has remained constant, Ted’s commitment to bring you the best - the best cameras and accessories from around the world, the best range possible and the best service and knowledge. It’s an on-going commitment that I’m proud to say has seen Ted’s become the place where Australia shops for cameras.

We've always been loyal

We often think of loyalty cards or rewards cards as something retailers came up with in recent times. However, when it comes to providing customers with added value, Ted’s has always been way ahead of its time. Our first loyalty card, the Club Ted Card, was introduced way back in the 70’s and continues to offer today’s customers substantial savings and benefits. The 70’s and 80’s also saw Ted’s introduce groundbreaking guarantees.  For total peace of mind, we also offer extended warranties on any camera we sell. In short, when you buy a camera from any one of Ted’s 19 stores, your happiness is guaranteed.
