Built for speed - the New Lumix G9
Panasonic have concentrated on speed when designing this highly anticipated Micro Four Thirds camera, the Lumix G9. Firstly there are the focusing speeds which are blistering, with thanks to a 225 point contrast detection system. Then there is the continuous shooting rate of up to 20 frames per second with the mechanical shutter, or faster with the electronic shutter. Speed isn't everything though, so Panasonic haven't neglected their imaging specs, with a 20.3 Live MOS sensor along for the ride. This sensor works in unison with the latest Venus Engine processor to produce sharp and detailed pictures throughout the wide ISO range, as well as enabling 4K resolution video.
The Panasonic Lumix G9 has been built tough, utilising magnesium alloy and a die-cast body, rendering the camera dust and splash-proof. Within this rugged body is a 5-axis sensor-shift image stabiliser, which can be taken one step further when using a stabilised Lumix lens, unleashing Dual IS 2 technology. Both a large OLED viewfinder and a 3-inch, touch sensitive vari-angle LCD screen are on board to help you find the perfect option to frame your image, every single time. As an added bonus a top status LCD has been included for quick viewing of important settings.
Built-in Wi-Fi, bluetooth and NFC connectivity allow you to share your images directly to your smart device, as well as enabling you to control your Lumix G9 remotely. A joystick on the rear of the camera has been made available for quickly and efficiently adjusting shooting settings, such as the focus point.
