SLR-class 16 Megapixel LiveMOS sensor with built-in IS
The high-performance 16 MP LiveMOS sensor and TruePic VI image processor from the acclaimed OM-D series have been incorporated into this new camera for outstanding SLR level picture quality, superb colour reproduction, and excellent high ISO capability with low picture noise. A built-in image stabiliser automatically shifts the sensor to compensate for camera-shake up to three shutter speeds for all lenses.
3-inch touch-screen with simplified user menu interface and intuitive LiveGuide
The new capacitive LCD touch-screen significantly enhances the photographic experience and simplifies settings control. Its menu interface is clean and direct. “Touch-Shutter” technology captures snapshots at a tap of the screen, focusing where you touch. A special LiveGuide mode enables beginners to confidently make adjustments to key camera settings via intuitive touch-sensitive slider controls with the results shown live; navigational and image zoom control in picture playback are touch-enabled. Menu settings can be adjusted through the touch- enabled menu interface. The E-PM2’s 460,000 pixel LCD screen has a 16:9 wide format ideal for Full HD video recording.
Super fast autofocus and responsiveness
Olympus’ “FAST-AF” technology means faster-than-SLR focusing speeds so that important photographic moments are rarely missed. The FAST-AF system makes use of the speed of Olympus’ M.Zuiko MSC* designated lenses, high-speed focusing algorithms, and a very short shutter delay. The TruePic VI picture engine processes pictures and video rapidly, meaning you can snap away without ever waiting on the camera. Capture a sequence of shots at up to 8 frames per second at full resolution!
For social media connectivity via smartphones and tablet devices, the E-PM2 fully supports the new (optional) FlashAir SD storage/wireless card that turns the camera into a wireless access point. Images captured to the card can be easily viewed on any smartphone, tablet or computer through a web browser. The new Olympus Image Share (OI.Share) smartphone app for iOS and Android makes picture browsing on smartphones and tablets, and picture transfer from the E-PM2 to Facebook and Twitter, simple and quick.
