The Olympus E-M1 range of Micro Four Thirds cameras has been popular due to its leaning towards sports and action photography and the newest model, the E-M1 Mark III continues this trend. The Olympus E-M1 Mark III features the high-performance TruePic IX processor, which improves operation speeds and overall performance. AF is one area that this camera excels at, with a 121-point AF system, as well as advanced Face and Eye AF algorithms. In a burst, the E-M1 Mark III can shoot up to 18 frames per second (electronic shutter), while the camera's portable size, when compared to the flagship E-M1X, has lead to great stabilisation - up to 7-stops! A well-designed, full-featured body, the Olympus E-M1 Mark III features weather-sealing, is capable of 4K resolution videos, and includes dual SD card slots for competent file management.

New to the Micro Four Thirds lineup is this portable powerhouse, the Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark III. Like the E-M1 cameras that came before, the Mark III will appeal to Mirrorless users with a leaning towards Sports and Action Photography. The 121-point all cross-type AF system focuses quickly and accurately, and this camera also features updated Face and Eye AF algorithms, which help keep this camera in touch with recent offerings from competing brands. Much of this speed is thanks to the TruePic IX image processor inside the E-M1 Mark III, which pairs up with the 20.4MP Live MOS Sensor to provide impressive imaging and performance results. For the action-minded, the E-M1 Mark III is up to the task, with an 18 FPS continuous shooting rate, using AF and the electronic shutter. Without AF this top speed is a mammoth 60FPS, while when using AF and the mechanical shutter, you can still capture a respectable 10 FPS.
The Olympus E-M1 Mark III is portable and lightweight, which is not just good news for those seeking a more manageable interchangeable lens camera, but it also allows the camera's sensor to be stabilised to a greater amount. This camera provides up to 7-stops of IS, so it is safe to say blurry images will not be ruining your day anytime soon. When used in combination with certain stabilised Olympus lenses, this rating increases to a remarkable 7.5 stops. The body of the E-M1 Mark III is dust, splash and freeze-proof, so it can be used with confidence in outdoor conditions. There are dual SD slots available to aid in file management, which is great news when considering the continuous shooting rate, as well as the high-resolution 4K30p videos that this camera is capable of.
On-loan from the higher-end E-M1X is the handheld high-res mode, which combines multiple images to create a 50MP file, without the aid of a tripod! Also borrowed from the E-M1X is the Live ND feature, which combines multiple images to mimic the smoothing and exposure-management effect of an ND filter.Other Key Features
