The OM System OM-3 is a retro-styled Micro Four Thirds mirrorless camera built around a 20.4MP Stacked BSI Live MOS sensor and the advanced TruePic X Dual Quad Core processor — the same powerful combination found in the flagship OM-1 Mark II. Its 1,053-point cross-type Quad Pixel phase-detection autofocus system covers 100% of the frame and is complemented by AI Subject Detection for people, birds, animals, motorsport, trains and aircraft, as well as Starry Sky AF for astrophotography. The camera shoots at up to 120fps with the silent electronic shutter (50fps with continuous AF), and a Pro Capture mode buffers up to 70 frames before the shutter is fully pressed, ensuring critical moments are never missed.

Housed in a compact magnesium alloy body with IP53 splash and dust resistance, the OM-3 features 5-axis in-body image stabilisation delivering up to 7.5EV of compensation with compatible Sync IS lenses. Video creators are well served with C4K/4K recording at up to 60p, 10-bit Log output, OM-Cinema colour profiles, and Full HD slow motion up to 240fps. Computational photography modes include 50MP Handheld and 80MP Tripod High-Res Shot, Live ND (up to ND32), Live Graduated ND, Focus Stacking, Live Composite and multiple exposure. A 3.0-inch fully articulated vari-angle touchscreen and a 2.36M-dot OLED electronic viewfinder, together with a dedicated Creative colour-and-effects dial, round out a feature set that punches well above the camera's compact dimensions and weight.
