The second imagining of this superb, Tamron telephoto lens
An exciting new announcement from Tamron, comes in this second generation lens, a re-imagining of the brand's hugely-popular super telephoto zoom lens. The Tamron SP 150-600mm G2 offers the same remarkable zoom range and form factor that made the first generation such a hit, but with a few important improvements that will help to entice both users of the previous lens and new converts that didn't quite make the plunge the first time around.
Improved AF speed and Vibration Compensation are two of the major upgrades to the 150-600mm G2, both of which will be much appreciated out in the field. The VC stabiliser is of benefit in low-light conditions that require slower shutter speeds and when using long magnifications - which is obviously a factor with this lens. This upgraded stabiliser features three different modes to assure you are equipped to capture sharp and blur-free images in any situation. When shooting any event the last thing you want is your noisey camera gear distracting your subjects, as the most successful images are often captured when your models are unaware of your presence and therefore unguarded. For this reason, sports, wedding and event photographers will be pleased to find a USD AF motor in this lens, which is at once accurate, fast and whisper quiet.
Optical performance is obviously a major factor for any lens and the 150-600mm G2 does not disappoint in this area. The upgraded optical construction which features 3 low dispersion elements, pairs with various coatings leading to exceptional image performance with virtually no sign of distortions and similar nasties, such as aberrations flare and ghosting.
