The fast f1.8 aperture of this Sony 55mm lens is able to let in plenty of light, making it a fantastic handheld and low-light photography option. Camera shake is all but forgotten due to the faster shutter speeds that you can now shoot at. Brilliant for capturing more dramatic and striking photographs, this large aperture allows for explorations into selective focus. You can make the conscious decision as to whether a little or a lot of your photograph is sharp and in focus, and your lens will oblige. Images with shallower depths of field will further benefit from the circular 9-bladed aperture, which assures out of focus areas are rendered smoothly and beautifully.
