Notable in this 100mm lens is the STF technology, which has been specially formulated to create the smoothest, most naturally appearing bokeh possible. The f2.8 maximum aperture makes it easy to reduce the backgrounds of pictures into blur, while this unique technology capitalises by creating bokeh that is so easy on the eye. Also used in the optical construction of this lens are Aspherical and ED elements, as well as Nano AR coating, for suppressed flare and ghosting.

Using the Optical SteadyShot stabiliser which is a feature of the Sony 100mm f2.8 STF lens, you can capture sharp, blur-free images all day long, even after the evening sun has started to set. The lens is the beneficiary of a Direct Drive SSM AF system, which responds quickly and quietly, to allow you to shoot at a varied subject matter, and shoot videos as well as stills. A physical aperture ring is available for fast and intuitive exposure adjustments, perfect for the hands-on enthusiast.
