The Sigma 24mm f/3.5 DG DN Contemporary is an ultra-wide prime lens belonging to Sigma's prestigious I Series, designed exclusively for full-frame Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras. Its impressively compact and lightweight all-metal construction — featuring precision-cut aluminium components, knurled metal controls, and a mechanical aperture ring running from f/3.5 to f/22 — is built to the same exacting operational standards as Sigma's professional Cine lenses. The brass bayonet mount offers enhanced rigidity and mounting accuracy, while a rubber seal delivers dust- and splash-resistant protection for confident shooting in varied conditions.

Optically, the lens features 10 elements in 8 groups, including one Special Low Dispersion (SLD) element and three aspherical elements, which work together to minimise chromatic aberrations, colour fringing, distortion, and spherical aberrations for edge-to-edge sharpness. A Super Multi-Layer Coating further reduces ghosting and flare for accurate, contrast-rich colour rendering. A stepping motor drives fast, quiet autofocus well-suited to both stills and video, while an impressively short minimum focus distance of just 10cm and a 1:2 maximum magnification ratio make this lens remarkably capable for close-up photography as well as wide-angle landscapes, travel, and street work.
