Although compact in size, this Sigma Art lens features impressive optical and physical designs. A range of premium elements assures sharpness and detail is consistently excellent, while the lens is dust and moisture-resistant as well as being treated to a water and oil-repellant front coating.

As is to be expected of the Sigma Art range, the Sigma 20mm f1.4 DG DN lens offers impressive performance under all conditions it is confronted with. Its optical structure of 17 elements in 15 groups includes two SLD, three aspherical glass elements and a huge double-sided aspherical glass element, which all in all leads to impressive sharpess from corner to corner, and the reduced appearance of various aberrations and distortions. Sigma's multi-layer coating has been applied to reduce flare and ghosting.

From a performance standpoint, the Sigma 20mm f1.4 DG DN Art lens is up to modern tasks, with a stepping AF motor in place to deliver impressive focus speeds with minimal focus noise, which helps the lens be useful for both still and video purposes. As this focus system is internal, this Sigma wide-angle lens maintains its portability when in use.

The Sigma 20mm f1.4 DG DN Art lens features a range buttons, dials and switches to help users have a pleasing experience with the lens mounted on their camera. These include a physical aperture ring, as well as a aperture ring lock switch and aperture ring de-click switch, the latter of which helps maintain quiet performance for video shooting.
