This lens uniquely features a built-in 1.4x teleconverter, extending the focal length of your lens to a huge 840mm. Need more reach still? Consider pairing this lens with an additional Nikon Z teleconverter to harness even greater magnification.As the teleconverter included in this Nikon lens is internal, it has been specially tailored to be a match to the quality of this lens, so there is no drop-off of standard with the teleconverter engaged. A one-stop loss of light will of course be experienced, meaning the new maximum aperture of the lens is f5.6. When you decide to engage or disengage the teleconverter, minimal effort is required, as this function can be performed via an intuitively placed switch.

The Nikon Z 600mm f/4 TC VR S lens provides exceptional image quality under a wide range of shooting constraits, thanks to its premium optical design that includes a number of premium lens elements. This includes ED, Super ED, Fluorite and Short-Wavelength Refractive lens elements. Users can enjoy bright and clear imagery in any lighting conditions, thanks to the application of both Meso Amorphous and Nano Crystal lens coatings - ghosting and lens flare are spoken for.

You would be forgiven for being a little bit hesitant to use the long reaches available to you with the Nikon Z 600mm f/4 TC VR S lens handheld, but you can do this very thing with confidence, thanks to the highly-effective 5.5-stop VR stabilisation system included. If you do feel the need to use a tripod, this is quick and easy to do, thanks to the included tripod collar. This Nikon telephoto prime lens is suited to modern photographers that are always on the go, weighing in at just 3.2KG, which is around 550 grams lighter than the F-mount equivalent. Despite this portability, this Nikon lens is no wilting flower - it includes a rugged weather-sealed build, with protective fluorine coating applied to the front and rear lens elements.

As many of the subjects that you will be framing with the Nikon Z 600mm f/4 TC VR S lens will be on-the-go, you will be pleased to find that the lens provides you an exceptionally fast and accurate AF system. This Silky Sift Voice Coil Motor uses magnets instead of gears to function, and as well as speed and accuracy, it is also notable for its supression of focus breathing.
