With the 24-70mm f2.8E VR Nikon has done just that thanks to a superior optical construction that includes a New Aspherical Extra-Low Dispersion element to go with the traditional Aspherical and ED elements that are also in the design, producing a level of imaging excellence far beyond expectations. Aberrations and imperfections such as flare are virtually non-existent in the images made with the 24-70mm, but sharpness and detail are there in spades.

Fast, bright f2.8 maximum apertureThe versatility that the 24-70mm focal length offers is enhanced by the fast f2.8 maximum aperture.
