This increased distance between you and your model helps capture more unguarded and natural moments, for eye-catching and memorable portraits.

Large maximum aperture - shallow depths of field

The previously mentioned longer focal length of this Olympus prime lens works in conjunction with a large f1.8 maximum aperture to help create images with very shallow depths of field. This means only your foreground can be kept in focus and sharp, while the backgrounds are reduced to a dream-like blur. This is a favoured effect for professional portrait photographers and is sure to add a new level of sophistication to your work. Also included in the construction of the 75mm f1.8 lens is a 9-blade circular aperture which ensures these out-of-focus areas, or bokeh, are of a beautiful and natural appearance.

Discreet autofocus - for movies and stills
