Introducing Pre-Release Capture

The Nikon Z8 allows you to stay in touch with the action, even if it occurs before you are totally ready to capture it. This camera delivers pre-release capture, which involves you half-pressing the shutter button, so the camera can start buffering images. Once the action starts and you fire the shutter, you can also enjoy images from up to 1 second before and 4 seconds after you finish shooting, so it's easier than ever to capture the best possible angle of all of the action.

Stay powered up while on the go

While running on the power of the long-life Nikon EN-EL15C lithium battery, the Nikon Z8's shooting times can be enhanced by using the MB-N12 power battery back, which as well as being dust and drip-resistant like the rest of the camera, provides up to 1.8x extra shooting power. In other good news for on-the-go shooters, this camera can even be charged while you shoot, using a mobile battery, thanks to the camera including dual USB ports, one for data and one for charging.
