Nikon Z7 - let's get the introductions out of the way!
One of the most anticipated and exciting camera releases in recent times, Nikon brings you their first-ever full-frame mirrorless camera lineup, which includes this model, the Nikon Z7. Those of us that know and love the bigger D850 will be pleased to find much of the same features and functionality in this model, but this time the size is more in line with our travel aspirations. With this new range comes a new lens mount, and the promise of a range of high-quality Nikkor lenses to follow. This new mount is notable for its 55mm lens flange, which Nikon has assured will result in lenses as fast as f0.95. Those already invested in the existing Nikon F-Mount system will be overjoyed to hear that an adapter is available to allow you to continue to use your current lineup of beloved Nikon lenses.
What's inside?
The full-frame sensor of the Z7 features a whopping 45.7MP of resolution, while it is backside-illuminated to assure excellent low-light performance, a feature that has been particularly noteworthy in the aforementioned D850. The body includes built-in VR, which is good for 5-stops of shake reduction and goes a long way to increasing the handheld shooting qualities of the camera.
A quick look at the body
At the rear of the Z7 sits a bright 3.2" touch-LCD screen which is tiltable to allow for greater compositional freedom. Key settings can also be viewed with just a glance at the OLED screen which sits conveniently at the top of the camera body. This weather-sealed body also features an EVF with a huge 3.6-million dots, which the majority of us will use to compose our pictures, with the promise of a higher level of intimacy and fewer distractions from the outside world.
Other Key Features
- Lightning fast 493-point predictive AF
- Built-in Bluetooth and WiFI with New direct to PC or Smartphone transfer (JPEG + RAW)
- 9 frames per second continuous shooting
- New Expeed Engine
