The Nikon Z DX 12-28mm F3.5-5.6 VR Power Zoom lens is a portable and lightweight wide-angle zoom lens, ideal for anyone looking to create premium content with their Nikon Z mirrorless camera. Custom-made for use on the APS-C format offerings within the Nikon Z range, this lens provides a versatile 18-42mm equivalent zoom range, which is great for landscapes, sceneries and travel shots, and particular POV shots. To make such content even easier to capture, this Nikon zoom lens is available at a featherweight 205 grams. As well as the standard subjects that we have noted, the Nikon Z DX 12-28mm f3.5-5.6 VR lens is good for close-up shots, thanks to a closest focus of just 19cm and magnification ratio of 0.21x.

The Nikon Z DX 12-28mm F3.5-5.6 VR lens is the first lens within the range to offer power zoom with linear drive, which means it is capable of quick and quiet operation and even remote control support when using the Nikon ML-LC remote control with Bluetooth connectivity activated. This Power Zoom function can also be activated using Nikon's PC software, the dedicated app, and the button on compatible cameras.

The Nikon Z DX 12-28mm F3.5-5.6 VR lens provides VR stabilisation, which assures that shots are smooth and free from blur, even when you are using your Nikon mirrorless kit in dim conditions, or working with moving subjects. This VR stabilisation system delivers 4.5 stops of stabilisation, and even offers an active mode for when working with subjects that are on the go. Despite its featherweight build, this Nikon zoom lens is made tough, with its dust and drip-resistant build allowing it to be used in outdoor conditions. As we have seen with our other favourite Nikon Z lenses, this DX 12-28mm f3.5-5.6 VR example features a control ring, so ISO, aperture, focus and exposure compensation can be adjusted on the lens itself, allowing users to develop a workflow that bust suits their shooting style.
