For the new FX-Format Nikon Z system, this lens provides a standard zoom range, covering you for the majority of your daily shooting needs in spectacular fashion. This wide to portrait range is favoured by many photographers for travel purposes, serving the purposes of a few specialist lenses without you having to waste time on changing lenses, not to mention space. Throughout this versatile range, the Nikon 24-70mm features a constant f4 aperture, which allows you to shoot sans tripod in a variety of shooting conditions, a point cemented when taking into consideration the built-in VR of the new Z cameras.

A good fit for general purpose usage, the Nikon 24-70mm f4 S includes a stepping AF motor, which is everything you want in a focus system. Fast, quiet and incredibly accurate. These characteristics lend the lens to a life spent on videos, as well as stills, which is the desired quality for a modern lens. Full-time manual focus is available, so you can take matters into your own hands if you see fit, while the internal focus system keeps the lens as compact as possible, which is further enhanced in this lens by its retractable-style barrel.
