As well as landscapes, the wide field of view of this zoom lens is useful for architectural, interior and group portrait applications. The Direct Drive SSM AF system provides a fast and quiet form of autofocus, which allows you to focus on varied subject matters, as well as attempting to capture videos and stills alike.

A premium optical construction which includes ED, Aspherical and XA elements assure pictures are sharp, detailed, and free from aberrations, while the Nano AR coating reduces reflections, and enhances contrast and colour accuracy. Fluorine coating has also been applied for the protection of the front lens element, which goes hand-in-hand with the dust and moisture resistance of the lens to increase its outdoor shooting potential.
