The Nikon AF-S 500mm f/4G ED VR is a telephoto prime lens from Nikon, ideal for sports and wildlife shooting with Nikon DSLRs. This lens is for FX-format cameras, while it can also be mounted on DX-format models providing even greater reach. ED elements have been used in the premium optical design of this lens, which equates to reduced aberrations and distortions and excellent image sharpness, while both Nano Crystal and Super Integrated Coatings are applied for minimised ghosting and flare. The lens is suitable for outdoor shooting, thanks to a weather-resistant build.

Further enhancing your sports and wildlife shooting abilities, the Nikon AF-S 500mm f/4G ED VR lens includes a Silent Wave Motor, which delivers fast and exceptionally quiet AF performance. This AF motor is incredibly accurate, so you can use this feature in conjunction with the bright f4 aperture for excellent selective focus effects. The VR II stabiliser that can be found in this Nikon telephoto prime lens is good for 3-stops of stabilisation. This allows you to use it handheld on occasion but also eliminates any shutter vibrations when mounted on a tripod, as the stabilisation system features a handy tripod detection mode.
