A top-notch wide angle zoom lens for all E-Mount cameras
Whether being used on top-of-the-line Sony full-frame cameras or the excellent compact APS-C versions, this 16-35mm f4 is an excellent wide angle choice that will not disappoint a single E-Mount user. Ideal for anything needing a wider field of view, such as landscapes, interiors or architecture, this lens has just enough zoom to be usable in more common day by day applications, making it a sensible option for any kit and one that will warrant repeated use.
An exceptional optical design
The optical construction of this lens is particularly effective, producing images with a stunning level of sharpness and clarity, when used in any shooting condition. Within the optical design is five Aspherical elements and three ED elements which work together to combat various aberrations and imperfections while keeping the size of the lens at an absolute minimum. Carl Zeiss’ famed T* coating has been put into place for the reduction of lens flare and ghosting, and to further enhance clarity, contrast and colour reproduction. There has been a lot of attention to detail when producing this lens and the results speak for themselves.
Constant f4 maximum aperture
Providing consistent picture quality and usability throughout its zoom range, the Sony 16-35mm has a constant f4 maximum aperture rating. This means it lets in just as much light at the long end as it does at the wide, which results in pictures which are just as sharp throughout the entire range. This large aperture also makes it easier to produce images with shallow depths of field, where the background is a blur and the important subjects in the foreground are sharp and eye-catching.
When shooting in low-light conditions, such as the ones you would encounter indoors or after sundown, camera shake is always a photographer’s enemy. Thanks to Sony’s effective Optical SteadyShot stabiliser, the risks of this enemy showing its face has been dramatically decreased in the 16-35mm f4. On occasions when you are forced to shoot a slower shutter speeds to get the perfect exposure, you can rest assured that the OSS will be there by your side, helping you on your way to taking the winning shot that will last a lifetime.
