Sigma enter the full-frame mirrorless camera market with the exciting FP, the smallest and lightest full-frame Mirrorless body released yet. The Sigma FP uses the existing Leica L-Mount and weighs in at a little over 400 grams with a battery installed. This portability makes the Sigma FP Mirrorless camera the best option to achieve high-quality full-frame images on a daily basis. The full-frame sensor inside features a high resolution of 24.6MP, while the camera can also capture videos in UHD 4K30p and has genuine suitability to videomaking on various fronts. There is no viewfinder at the rear of this camera, it instead relies on a large 3.15-inch touch-sensitive LCD screen. The Sigma FP features an extended ISO range of 6-102400, 18 frames per second continuous shooting and built-in electronic stabilisation for sharp, blur-free images and videos.
The Sigma FP Mirrorless camera is the smallest and lightest full-frame Mirrorless camera to be released at the time of writing. It weighs just over 400 grams and it makes use of the popular L-mount, meaning it is compatible with a range of lenses from Sigma, Leica and Panasonic. The camera, with its 24.6MP full-frame sensor and built-in Electronic Stabilisation system, is a remarkable portable image-making machine, with enormous possibilities for still image making and video shooting alike.
The Sigma FP can film UHD 4K30p resolution videos. It also features a Microphone input for attaching external mics and a headphone port for audio monitoring. A hot-shoe unit is included in the box, which is useful for attaching flash units and other accessories to the camera for advanced functionality. Some additional features that will appeal to video users are external RAW video recording, Cinemagraph mode, and the vibrant and unique Teal and Orange colour mode which has been inspired by Hollywood colour grading techniques. This portable body is modular and can be used with grips, brackets and more in a larger, advanced video making system.
While there is no built-in viewfinder, the huge 3.15-inch LCD screen at the rear of the FP is perfect for composing both stills and videos, while Sigma has also a Director's viewfinder function, which gives users a simulation of various angles of view and how an image appears on cinema cameras. The Sigma FP features a Cine/Still button at the top which unleashes operating systems that are unique to both individual styles of shooting.
