Panasonic Lumix G85

Panasonic Lumix G85

great camera
, 4/06/2017

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-G85 is an SLR-style mid-range mirrorless camera. It features 4K video capture, 2nd-generation 5-axis image stabilization and a 16MP Four Thirds sensor with no optical low pass filter. It is also sold as the Panasonic G80, G81 and G8, depending on the market.

Though Panasonic has not come outright and said it, the G85 is the successor to the G7. More a refinement than something new entirely, both cameras share seemingly identical bodies and offer twin control dials, plenty of customizable buttons and fully articulating touch interfaces.

Panasonic Lumix FZ300

Panasonic Lumix FZ300

Along for the ride - for a while
, 22/04/2017

We used a Lumix FZ300 from Teds as our main camera at the start of an extensive round the world motorcycle trip that included a lot of rough terrain. The camera lived in a bag on the tank through 6000km of African roads and 10,000km in South America. We took about 2000 images with it, including some stunning panoramics of the Andes, Chilean glaciers, etc, plus a view brief videos.
The camera got wet, dusty, hot and cold (like we did!) and always performed well. Its lowlight performance was especially good and the built in flash was better than expected.
I would have liked more warning about low battery level, but having a spare charged up made things easier. The charger is quite bulky for motorcycle travel.
We never did work out some of the functions, such as wifi, through our own fault and a failure to pack the camera's manual.
Sadly, someone else liked the camera as much as we did, and it was stolen in Puchon, 650km south of Santiago.

GoPro Hero 5 Black

Great new Design
, 21/04/2017

The new design of the Hero 5 Black is fantastic. The rubberised exterior makes it easy to hold and it helps the cameras shock-proofing,.The Hero 5 Black feels solidly constructed.I have used the Hero 5 Black for months now and its build quality has stood up to the bumps and knocks. Not needing a waterproof case makes the camera more portable.

Canon EF-S 10-18mm F4.5-5.6 IS STM

Ideal wide-angle lense for new photographers, minimal distortion with excellent clarity.
, 6/04/2017

Perfect for interior or landscape photography, the Canon 10-18mm is mixes value for money with ease of use.
A very light lense, silent autofocus and most importantly, it's got a brilliant wide view with minimal distortion.
Only problem I've had is with the manual focus very sensitive but that quite simply could be on my behalf - autofocus is what you'll be using 95% of the time with this one anyways.
Great value for money, ideal for beginners.
