Premium in the palm of your hand. OM-D E-M10.
The OM-D E-M10 features state-of-the-art technologies in its ultra-compact stylish body. The high performance sensor and image processor inherited from the E-M5 and E-M1, provide class leading image quality. The high-speed, high-definition, and highly-operable electronic viewfinder provides a great shooting experience. Super Premium & Small E-M10 is a interchangeable lens camera with a stylish design and high performance that was born to capture beautiful moments.
Ultra-Compact Stylish Body
The body features quality metallic dials, a slight grip and an easy-to-see viewfinder that lets you hold the camera comfortably. Meticulously designed to ensure intuitive operation. The premium design aesthetic is achieved through the quality metal body consisting of the meticulously manufactured metal components and the design featuring sculpted lines. This beautiful camera makes you want to carry it around with you wherever you go, and it inspires you to capture beautiful moments.
The depth of the camera is only 63.9mm when the most compact electronic pancake zoom lens (standard zoom lens) M.Zuiko Digital ED 14-42mm F3.5-5.6 EZ is attached to the body. The camera when kitted with a lens is the depth of conventional ultra-compact DSLR body alone.
Highly-Operable Dual Dials
Even though the body is very compact, it still features two dials inherited from the higher-end models. These dials allow you to directly control frequently used parameters such as the aperture, shutter speed, exposure compensation, ISO speed, white balance, etc. This innovative user interface provides users with enhanced operating experience.
Very High Image Quality
Beautifully capture once in a lifetime moments. The E-M10 features latest high-quality technologies to capture a precious moment beautifully. Zuiko Lens Systems were designed specifically for digital photography and boast amazing optical performance. In combination with the high-quality sensor and image processor, they provide outstanding image quality.
Zuiko Lens Systems
Lenses determine the quality of photographs. Zuiko Digital lenses boast high optical performance achieved through the Olympus optical design technologies acquired through decades of experience in the industry including state-of-the-art technologies such as a DAS lens and ZERO Coating. The telescopic optical system is specifically designed for digital cameras and it effectively sends light to the image sensor to provide images clear to the edges.
TruePic VII brings out the potential of any attached lens
The camera is equipped with TruePic VII image processor which is also used by the flagship model E-M1. TruePic VII optimises sharpness according to the optical characteristics of the attached lens and aperture (f-number) value, performs high-precision de-mosaic optimisation for the low-pass filter less sensor, and features Fine Detail II Technology that reduces false colours. It brings out the potential of lenses to achieve sharpness and high-resolution. Olympus proprietary image processing technology, Real Colour Technology renders colours that are thought to be difficult to create (i.e. emerald green and yellow) more true to life.
16M Live MOS Sensor Supports Up to ISO 25,600
The E-M10 is equipped with the 16M Live MOS sensor inherited from the E-M5. It retains details in shadows and, accurately captures night scenes and dark indoor scenes. The wide dynamic range made smooth colour tones possible and capture high contrast scenes possible. The ISO LOW (ISO100) lets you use the wide aperture of fast lenses during day light.
Fast Electronic Viewfinder
A large easy to see EVF is mounted on a compact stylish body. This is your very own canvas for expressing your creativity. You can easily control saturation, tones, composition and focus while looking through the EVF. An immersive shooting experience that is different from shooting with the rear LCD monitor.
Large & easy to see fast electronic viewfinder
The E-M10 is equipped with 1.44 million-dot viewfinder with 1.15x maximum magnification ratio (35mm equivalent maximum image magnification: 0.57x) which features approximately 100% viewfinder coverage. The fast EVF is responsive to rapidly moving subjects with a time lag as low as 0.007 seconds when the high-speed display mode is selected*. The eye sensor automatically switches the display between the EVF and LCD screen. Despite the high-speed 0.3 second switching time, the eye sensor is designed so that it is not inadvertently activated when using the rear monitor or activating playback/menu screen.
3-axis In-body VCM Image Stabilisation
The camera is equipped with a smaller version of VCM image stabilisation that is also used by our flagship model E-M1. It boasts high image stabilisation ability (approx. 3.5 steps). In addition to vertical and horizontal shifts, it also compensates rolling camera shake that cannot be compensated with lens-shift image stabilisation.
VCM stands for Voice Coil Motor. It directly moves the image sensor with magnetic power.
Optical Rolling Compensation
By rolling the image sensor, the 3-axis VCM can compensate optical rolling camera shake that cannot be compensated by lens-shift image stabilisation and camera shake at the edges of still images that occurs when the shutter button is pressed during a slow shutter.
FAST AF and 8fps High-Speed Sequential Shooting
The 81-point AF system covers almost the entirety of the image area and in the E-M10 is combined with the up to approx. 8fps high-speed sequential shooting, to capture the right moment easily. It also features additional AF functions such as Super Spot AF which lets you focus on a tiny part of an image and Eye Detect AF that automatically focuses on the eye of a person.
Eye Detection AF & e-Portrait
Eye Detection AF It automatically focuses on an a subjects eye for precise AF when you shoot bust shots or head shots and combine this with the e-Portrait function to smooth out skin tones and textures. Alternatively you can select Diorama Effect to gradually defocuses images using the focus point as the central point to soften the images. All features that put the creative control in your hands on their own or combined to capture impressive portrait photographs.
Touch AF Shutter
With Touch AF you can select the focus point even at the edges of the screen just by touching the rear monitor. Which allows you the ability to specify select the subject in an intuitive manner.
Super Spot AF creates pin point accurate AF points
Super Spot AF magnifies the specified AF area and uses the centre of the magnified AF area as the focus point. Powerful image stabilisation is automatically turned on when an AF area is enlarged so that it is very useful for macro shooting and telephoto shooting.
Small Target AF
Small Target AF lets you specify a very small area as the AF target. Because it is possible to specify a very small focus area, very fine focusing is possible.
