Nikon D810 – Unsurpassed resolution
Raising the bar even higher than its predecessor, the New Nikon D810 is an FX-Format DSLR that provides professionals and enthusiasts with incredible resolution and image quality. At 36.3 megapixels you are afforded a level of creative freedom in printing and editing that is virtually limitless and thanks to the full-frame sensor being designed without an optical-low pass filter, images are rendered amazingly sharp straight out of the camera.
The EXPEED 4 image processer is borrowed from the D4S and does an excellent job at handling the large files produced by the camera, while also aiding in the excellent low-light performance and 5 frames per second frame-rate.
Shoot in the dark
The EXPEED 4 image processor and newly developed sensor ensure resolution, tonality and colour reproduction are maintained in all lighting conditions – throughout the ISO range of 64-12800. Noise is controlled throughout this range, but details are not lost in the process, resulting in the D810 being the ideal camera to explore the world in available light.
Finding focus
With a 51-point AF system the Nikon D810 is able to achieve the tack-sharp accuracy that is necessary for a camera of this resolution. Focus is attained quickly and easily on still or moving objects, in bright conditions or in low-light. The D810 features the newly improved Multi-CAM 3500FX autofocus sensor module, which has the ability to focus in extremely dim light, which combines with the aforementioned brilliant High ISO-performance to make the camera the go-to option for low-light photographers.
Cinematic Capabilities
Not content to excel at only still photography, Nikon have included in the D810 numerous videography features, providing users with richly detailed Full HD videos with accurate colour representation and minimal moiré. The Full HD movies can be captured at 60p allowing you to explore slow motion video in post-production, while time-lapses can be created to stunning effect in-camera. High contrast scenes can be combated through the use of Auto ISO control and for the more discerning film-maker, footage can be outputted in an uncompressed format via HDMI.
As well as a host of other controls and options, the D810 has a high-quality built-in stereo microphone with wind noise reduction and the option to bypass this microphone by connecting one to the dedicated mic input.
Find the perfect mate for your camera
Choosing the correct lens or lenses to use with your D810 can go a long way to optimising the performance of your camera and creating images that last a lifetime.
Whether you are after a wide angle lens for landscapes, a fast prime lens for available-light portraits or a long telephoto zoom lens for action and sports, the range of high-quality Nikkor lenses will have something suitable available.
