James from Ted's Cameras covers the features and benefits of the Xrite ColorMunki.
James: Hi! I’m James and welcome to Get Teducated, today we’re talking about the X-Rite Colormunki Display
If you’re a photo enthusiast who spends hours sitting at your desktop PC editing your photos to get the colour “just right”, you’ve probably suffered that disappointment of finding that it looks completely different in the print, even though you’re using the best paper and ink you could find for your high end printer.
That’s because standard PC monitors, or any LCD or LED screens for that matter, are generally designed to reproduce colour the way the manufacturer wants, and that’s not always accurate!
This is where monitor calibration devices like the X-Rite Colormunki come in.
The Colormunki will actually analyse and measure the colour coming out of your desktop or laptop monitor, and fine tune your display to ensure the best, most accurate colour possible. It doesn’t just stop at the monitor output though, the X-Rite Colormunki Display also includes an ambient light sensor to take into account the lighting conditions of the room as well. Using X-Rite’s Ambient Light Smart Control, it will actually continuously monitor the ambient lighting conditions, plus the X-Rite Flare Correct technology will measure and compensate for any glare from your display surface.
The Colormunki is easy to use, allowing you to get your monitors or projector amazingly calibrated in mere minutes. Once you take that guesswork out of making sure the colour you see on your monitor or projector is the colour you expect from your printer, you can work with the confidence that you full creative control over your images.
