Ray Martin is unmatched in Australian TV journalism – with five Gold Logies & many other awards, gathered over his 53-year career.

Coincidently, he has been taking photographs almost as long – without the same public notoriety.

In his distinguished journalism career, Ray spent a decade as the ABC’s New York Correspondent and was one of the original 60 Minutes trio of reporters, going on to host The Midday Show, A Current Affair and Sunday - along with an extraordinary range of top-rating Nine Network Specials, from Federal Elections to Carols by Candlelight.

In more recent times he has hosted a number of award-winning SBS series, Prime Network documentaries & 30 live shows with Sir David Attenborough. He has also written three best - selling books, including a collection of his photographs called “ Ray Martin’s World”, published by Melbourne University Press. After being included in a number of joint exhibitions with fellow photographers, Ray had his first major solo exhibition late last year at Ken Duncan’s Gallery on the NSW Central Coast. In 2011, Ray Martin was awarded an Order of Australia for his journalism & his charity work, especially in areas of Aboriginal disadvantage.

Earlier this year he was awarded a Doctorate of Letters (Hon) by Sydney University for his illustrious career in journalism.

An exhibition of Ray Martins work will be on display at Ted's World Of Imaging from Thursday the 18th of October, until Sunday the 28th of October.
