16 May 2024

With their retro charm, compact size and incredible image performance, Fuji Mirrorless cameras are looked upon fondly by photographers of all skill levels. Today we take a look at some of our favourite models from the X-series to find out which one is right for you.

Fujifilm X-T5

  • 40.2MP BSI X-Trans CMOS Sensor
  • Built-In Image Stabilisation
  • 15FPS Continuous Shooting
  • Rugged, Weather-Sealed Build

The Fujifilm X-T5 is one of the more advanced, enthusiast-friendly offerings of the Fuji X-Series. As well as featuring the latest and greatest features and undeniably excellent imaging performance, it is one of the toughest of the bunch with its magnesium alloy build and weather-sealing.

We recommend this camera for the most demanding users with such extras as dual card slots, longer battery life and better suitability to sports shooting - the X-T5 features a speedy 425-point AF system, up to 15 frames per second continuous shooting, and a maximum shutter speed of 1/8000th of a second. The X-T5 will appeal to anyone looking to produce high-resolution results, with a 40.2MP image sensor as well as a pixel shift mode that churns out a remarkable 160MB image. This Fuji mirrorless camera is no slouch when it comes to video recording, with 6.2K30p video available, and even high-quality RAW video output via HDMI.

It combines a portable and lightweight build with top-tier imaging quality, resulting in the perfect mirrorless camera for daily use and travel.

Although very slim and weighing only 378 grams, the X-T30 II competes well with other models, thanks to its 26.1MP X-Trans CMOS 4 sensor and X-Processor Pro. This camera is ideal for enthusiasts and exceeds expectations with its physical dials for making key setting changes. • Built-In Image Stabilisation
    • Dedicated Film Simulation Dial
    • Portable, Lightweight Design

The latest addition to the Fujifilm lineup, this X-T50 borrows the high-resolution image sensor from the flagship X-T5 but it houses this in a smaller, more beginner-friendly body. Similar in stature to the popular X-T30 II, but with a more rounded design, the X-T50 improves on that version with the inclusion of in-body image stabilisation, which delivers up to 7-stops of stabilisation for brilliant handheld shooting.

The X-T50 includes both a high-quality EVF and a brilliant tilting LCD screen, which we have seen before on the X-T30 II, so users can frame their shots in a way that best suits them. We recommend the LCD screen for taking advantage of the excellent 6K video recordings. Fuji film simulations have long been a highlight of this range and the X-T50 includes 20 of them to choose from, including the most recent recipe, Reala Ace. In a highlight, users don't have to head to the menu to find their favourite simulation but can instead make use of the dedicated film simulation dial on the top plate - choose between some popular simulations and add your favourite to the custom spot for fast call-back.
