Sunday the 8th marks Mothers Day in Australia. On this day we take time to appreciate our mothers or mother figures. While Mothers Day wasn't started in Australia, it's a little known fact that it was an Australian who is credited with having started the tradition of giving gifts on Mother's Day: Janet Heyden, a resident of Leichhardt Sydney, started a campaign in 1924 to collect gifts for lonely aged mothers.Nowadays, not only do we take this day to celebrate our mothers, but also we use it to raise recognition for many worthy causes like Breast Cancer Awareness, World Vision Mothers Day Appeal & Trees For Mum.
Below is a selection of images from the web, celebrating mothers everywhere. Check them out, get inspired and don't forget to share your thoughts in the comments section. :-)
Whatever your plans this Mothers Day, don't forget to preserve the moment in photos.
