• Event Description

  Experience to power of flash in a studio setting with Sony!
  

  Join Ted's Cameras and Sony Australia for a flash workshop that will have you a master of light in no time. 
  

  This is a 2 hour workshop focussing on speedlights in a studio environment, using both on and off-shoe flash techniques. A model will be present for this workshop, so you'll get to learn in a realistic, professional studio setting!

  Sony will provide a range of Alpha series cameras and lenses for your use as part of the workshop, though, users of all brands are welcome to attend.

  You will learn:

  • How to optimise the camera Functions Menu for flash use
  • When and why TTL is useful
  • Why its important to control ambient light
  • How to use onboard flash and bouncing the light
  • What is FEC?
  • How to take your flash off your camera for remote firing

  What to bring:

  • Sony Cameras and lenses will be provided for your use. If you would like to bring your own camera you may do so, but please remember to charge your batteries. 
  • Memory Card
  • Notebook and pen if you'd like to take any notes

  
  

  COVID-SAFE EVENT POLICY (PLEASE READ BEFORE REGISTERING FOR THIS EVENT)
  

  To support a COVID-safe environment for staff and customers, please note the following in line with this event:
  

  • At all times, you will be required to maintain a 1.5m distance from others in this workshop.
  • There is strictly no sharing of products and materials. When you are finished with a demo product, please hand it back to the representative running the workshop, so they can prepare it for the next customers use.
    
  • If the law of the state you are in requires the wearing of face masks in an indoor environment, you must bring your own mask and wear it for the duration of this workshop. Masks are not provided by our staff, and all Ted's Camera Stores locations strictly abide by the law as stated by Federal and State Government. 
  • Hand sanitiser is supplied in store at all times.

  • If at any time rules or regulations are implemented by either Federal or State Governments (e.g. the use of face masks or social distancing requirements), you must adhere to these rules in order to participate in this workshop.

  • We encourage the use of face masks particularly in indoor settings, and if your state government requires their use at any given time, you must wear one in order to participate in this workshop
  • Social distancing measures are in place for all indoor workshops/experiences, and for outdoor workshops/experiences we strongly encourage social distancing where physically possible
  • There is strictly no sharing of demonstrational products - if you are allocated any demonstrational products to try, you must hand these back to your workshop trainer for cleaning before they can be given to another customer
