  • Explore the power of Canon's Mirrorless system under the star-lit sky!

Join Ted's Cameras, Canon Australia and Astrophotography expert Matt Hudson for a night of Astrophotography in Sydney.

Photograph the stunning night sky while learning about all of the tools and techniques you need to capture the stars, planets, and wonders of the solar system in all of their glory.

Due to the nature of Astrophotography requiring a clear night's sky, in the case of bad weather conditions, this event will be re-scheduled. If rescheduling is required, you will be contacted via SMS and email at  the earliest possible opportunity, with a new date proposed. If this new date does not suit you, we will be able to refund your ticket.

    About Matt Hudson

Matt is a passionate multi-disciplinary photographer based in the south west of Sydney, and has been shooting since his university days over a decade ago.

In 2017 he founded the Sydney Astrophotograhpers group to help encourage more people into astrophotography. As part of that, he ran regular meetups and workshops prior to lockdown, as well as presenting numerous talks at local camera clubs in the Sydney area.

Matt's astrophotography has been featured in multiple news outlets, and was part of the 2019 CWAS David Malin awards travelling exhibit.

    What to bring:

    • Your camera and lenses - a wide angle lens is ideal for Astrophotography, but you can bring along whatever you have regardless.
    • Canon will have a selection of mirrorless cameras and lenses available for use, but these may need to be shared with other customers and are not for exclusive individual use.
    • SD card with available space
    • Tripod (if you have one)
    • Warm clothing and comfortable shoes

Please take care on roads late at night.
