Workplace Photoimaging (N.M.I.T)

If you are seeking introductory training in work related photography the Workplace Photoimaging course is suitable for you.
This course will provide you with the introductory skills and knowledge to take quality photographic images for a variety of work-related needs inclulding work in advertising, public relations, portraiture, documentation (insurance, evidence and manufacturing) plus a variety of other vocational applications.

Vocational Photography (N.M.I.T) |
Folio Preparation Vocational Photography will provide you with an excellent opportunity to produce a comprehensive folio, or the option of seeking employment, applying for further tertiary studies, or extending existing skills.
It is modelled on three-day a week study which allows for flexibility in pursuing other work. Vocational Photography is Centrelink approved for qualifying participants.
Major areas of study include: application of lighting, photographic techniques and the development of a range of technical and creative skills. The program is structured around theory and practical units.
Mostly studio based, the course provides experience in small, medium and large format film camera and digital SLR camera use. Successful completion of the program entitles participants to receive a certificate stating the national coarse code and modules that have been completed throughout the program.
Professional photographers conduct the course, ensuring it is relevant to current industry practice. The course covers the cost of all chemical requirements but students will be required to supply their own photographic materials.

Photojournalism

New Course No matter what level of experience you have as a photographer, this course will provide you with a valuable introduction to current photojournalistic practice.
If your experience is limited and you have an interest in photographing for the media then you will gain an insight into the industry which may lead you to further studies or building a freelance practice.
If you’re a practicing photographer who wishes to diversify into photojournalism, then this course will provide you with an introduction to the techniques and approaches specific to media photography.
People working in the media in other roles will gain an understanding of the role of the photography.

Certificate in Practical Photography (N.M.I.T) |
The certificate gained upon successful completion of this course has NMIT recognition and will enable you to confidently perform basic photographic tasks in the workplace and / or enhance your prospects of submitting a successful application to a tertiary course.
The course covers a wide range of topics: experience with 35mm and medium formats, shooting colour and black and white films, processing and printing in black and white, composition and image design, studio lighting, folio preparation and application guidance.
