Frequently Asked Questions
What is Home Ordering? Home Ordering allows you to quickly and easily send photos to a photo lab for printing from the comfort of your own home or office. You can select photos from your PC or from other media such as a CD or the memory card from your camera. You can then upload the photos to the store via the Internet or you can copy the images to CD and post/take them into the store. For those that have used a Photo.Teller kiosk, it is like having a personal kiosk in your home.
What are the minimum requirements for my computer to be able to run Home Ordering? You will need:
- Windows 95/98 or higher (includes 2000/XP etc)
- Pentium III 500MHz processor
- 128MB RAM
- Home Ordering software installed on your computer
- Internet connection
Is my credit card payment secure? Yes. The card details are encrypted and sent through a secure connection directly to the store. Nobody but the store will receive these details.
I have pictures on a CD and also on my hard drive I want to load. Can I do both at the same time? Yes. Load the first set of pictures, then select the ‘Load More Pictures’ option to load the second set.
The size of print I want is not in the list, how can I select it? Ensure you have clicked the ‘More Sizes’ button to continue scrolling through the list. If you still cannot find the size you want, it could be because the store does not offer it. The store decides which sizes it can or will offer.
I have selected a print size but there is a yellow exclamation mark next to it. What does this mean? The exclamation mark indicates the quality of the picture is inadequate for the print size selected. You can still send it to the store for printing, but its quality may be below standard. Try selecting a smaller print size if there is one available.
I made a mistake while editing my photo. Have I ruined it? Not at all. If at any time you are not happy with the edit you have made, you can click the reset button to set the photo back to its original form.
I don't have a credit card, is there a way of ordering my prints without using one? Ted’s Camera Stores currently only allows for online orders to be made by payment at the time of ordering, this can only be done via Credit Card at this stage.
My order won't upload, what is causing this? This could be due to a variety of reasons. Possibilities include:
- No Internet connection - you must be connected to the Internet to upload pictures to the store
- Your firewall is blocking it - ensure you are not blocking Home Ordering or the Home Ordering Uploader.
- Windows XP firewall is blocking it - Windows XP Service Pack 2 has a built-in firewall that will block Home Ordering. Ensure you allow access for Home Ordering when prompted.
- The Photo.Teller Home Ordering site could be down for maintenance. Please check the status on the server on the Status Page
*Please note: if you are in an office, contact your system administrator before changing any settings or installing any software
How long will it take for my pictures to reach the store? Your pictures are available for the store to receive immediately after the order has finished uploading. The store will receive an email informing them of the order so that they know to log in if they are not already or if you have sent the order while they were closed.
How do I know if the store has received my order? You will receive a confirmation email with your job details when the order has been successfully uploaded. The store will then contact you when the job has been completed. Alternatively, contact the store that you have placed the order with for an update on your orders progress.
How can I find out the status of order? In the Home Ordering software, click the ‘Check Work Status’ button on the second screen. From here you can view the status of all print jobs that you have sent to all stores. http://www.homeordering.net/serverStatus.php
Where can I pick up my order? You will be given a choice depending on the store's settings. Options include pickup from the store and home delivery.
I have a problem that is not covered here. Who can I contact? Contact the store you are attempting to upload your photos to. They can answer many questions and have access to expert technicians for highly technical or complex issues. |
