Nikon Coolpix S9100

When selecting current image, large fingers can accidently touch the ^ button as well as the OK button. This results in all images being selected. Next screen highlights Yes/No in yellow but only prints in white on a grey background "erase all image?" which is not easily seen. There are no flashing lights or warnings in red that you are about to delete all your photographs and no double warning. This is a basic requirement before allowing deletion of all data.

I bought this camera for an overseas trip because I didn't want to haul my DSLR overseas again, finding it bulky for overseas travel. While not disappointed exactly with this camera, I can't say I'm over the moon either. Perhaps it's because I'm used to the quality of the DSLR, but I didn't seem to get the great holiday shots I was hoping for.
The original camera I purchased had to be replaced due to a never before seen malfunction in image quality. Fair play to Ted's - they were extremely quick and efficient about this, which has cemented my customer loyalty.
Great. So with new camera in hand I had a bit of a play and I noticed that in a batch of shots there would be several which weren't all that great. I thought I needed to have a bit more of play. But no. In general shooting I would expect more clear pictures whereas I got a lot of blurred pictures or poor quality pictures. Yes I got some good ones as well, but as well as an awful lot of ordinary ones.
I think I will continue to use this camera for everyday use, but next time I go on holiday I will take my DSLR as well.

Small compact, great zoom and picture quality. This would be the best camera that I have had in all my years of photo shooting . I have recommended it to my Uncle and he went and boughed one 2 weeks ago , and now we compare our snap shots .

We will be going to New Zealand shortly and will give it a good run then.

The Nikon Coolpix S9100 is a wonderful little camera. It offers a nice variety of options not often found on smaller camera and they are all easy to use and access. The video and sound quality are also a pleasant surprise, even in low light and spotlit situations. Battery life is longer than expected and quick to charge, especially if you have an AC or car adaptor. For the price, it's a great camera for the average person who wants to experiment with more than just point and shoot!

Love that its easy to use and has many options for the price we paid. We kept on discovering on our holiday the many fuctions the camera is capable of. Picture quality is great.

I purchased this to go on holidays to Mauritius, and am very glad I did. It took great photos, and has such a wide variety of functions that I was discovering new things to do with it each day. The screen resolution is very good, and I found upon review that 90% of my photos were as clear and focused as they appeared on-screen.
The panorama mode (once I found it), is very easy to use and makes for great shots (unless people run through it).
There were only two drawbacks on the camera. 1, the battery life. Admittedly, one battery lasted a full day of picture-taking, so it is actually quite good, but it gets rather tiresome having to recharge the batteries each night.
2, the camera function. Am very satisfied with the filming aspect (clear video, good zoom, acceptable audio) - my gripe is with the record button. Once you're filming, you've got to hit the button again to stop, and if you've moved to an awkward angle, it's quite difficult to re-press. This leads to a few seconds at the end of the film of the screen jiggling around as you try and stop it.

Overall, an excellent camera. Very happy with it.

Takes amazing pictures, the 18x optical zoom is better than any camera I have used before. I still haven't worked out all the features, the menu options are not as self-explanatory as I had hoped, need to read the instruction manual thoroughly to take full advantage of all the features. HD video works really well, even in very low light - clear, precise film. This camera excels in low level lighting, picking up all sorts of detail that the naked eye can't see. Very happy with the purchase

After a little play around with the features and some practice - which didn't take long at all -we have been able to take some great shots. We love the many options available and have been 'showing off' to friends - the panorama and close up features in particular. They are suitably impressed! We also took some great night time shots. Everytime we pull the camera out to take a photo we say to whoever is listening: "This is a FABULOUS camera to use!"

Found it easy to use but not yet versed in all of it's wonderful features. I need more time to just play with it and get used to it. Easy to navigate around the menu etc.

I think i must have just had got the lemon in the bunch, because within a month i have had to send it back and get it repaired because of a mechanical fault, Which is quite annoying because now i don't have a camera and am going on a once in a lifetime holiday this weekend.
The camera itself was brilliant before it crashed.

Has a lot of great features, including great zoom. Its a little more expensive than others like the Sony which has similar features.

A pleasure to use Could slip into pocket - compact. Liked tele and wide angle zoom capacity.for easy composition Auto and Night setting with auto exposure compensation great for dim cathedral shots. Exposure adjustment easy particulaly for backlit shots. Movie option handy for occasioanl use. Zoom, Movie and switch off (retracting lens) made extra demands on battery life. Needed 2nd battery to ensure a full days snapping with some movie. Recharge overnight sometimes problematic.

Good quality images however find the camera very slow to respond when a quick photo snap is required, missing out on some good shots. I think there must be better cameras out there for the good quality quick snap. Thinking of giving this camera away to one of my children and purchasing something else.
