Canon Digital Camera Lenses

Take a look at our Canon Lens Range comparison video here

Canon offers a range of lenses for digital SLR cameras (DSLR) that will whet the appetite of any photographer. Whether you are looking for a DSLR lens to capture vast, dramatic landscapes or delicate wildlife in perfect detail, you will find a selection of both fixed focal length and zoom (variable focal length) including telescopic, macro, wide angle, fisheye and tilt and shift lenses to cater to your photography needs. There are two different mount systems that feature in the Canon EOS digital SLR (DSLR) range - they are the EF (electrofocus) and EF-S lens mount. If your camera supports the EF mount it will have a red dot on the lens mount, if it supports EF-S it will have a white square as well. While EF lenses are supported on EF-S mounts, EF-S lenses are not supported on EF mounts. Looking for a professional lens? The Canon L series is Canon's flagship professional range. These high-performance lenses set themselves apart by incorporating the best of Canon's precision-designed EF optics. The additional application of fluorite or ultra-low dispersion (UD) glass elements, or a combination of both, helps minimise chromatic aberration and results in a sharper image quality throughout the frame.

Tips from the photographer

  • Get up early, the light at sunrise can be amazing.
  • Act quick, the light isn’t like this for long.
  • Shoot raw, it helps to capture the full colour range.
