Canon presents us the new and much anticipated PowerShot G1X, a revolution in the field of compact digital cameras. Thanks to the new larger sensor and DIG!C 5 processor, the Canon G1X produces DSLR quality photos and High Definition Video. The 14 Megapixel sensor is just shy of the APS-C size, providing beautiful high resolution with outstanding bokeh at f2.8. The lens is built to canon EF lens standards, featuring a super sharp 4x Zoom and an f2.8-5.6 floating aperture. All of this is packed into a robust metal casing with a 3 Inch Vari-angle screen, fully Manual controls and an optical viewfinder.

I have enjoyed using my new camera, however would have preferred obtaining a "Full Manual" so that I could understand all the features & use them accordingly. I love the screen for a beginner, you can see what you are taking. The staff @ Ted's were just great to deal with.

Versatile companion camera for DSLR owners

The G1X produces sharp & clear low noise photos with good usable zoom range of 28 - 112 mm. This camera has fast 2.8 lens providing excellent low light images under a wide variety of lighting conditions.The high resolution vari angle screen is clear and easy to use and the movie mode is in keeping with the rest of the cameras great build & easy to use operating features.When using the viewfinder the battery life results in approx. 700 shots however this is obviously reduced when using the screen. This camera is a joy to use.

Worth the extra cost if you enjoy taking good quality photos and video

Canon fan

Excellent in low light, lots of new features eg. Toy camera, fish eye effects.
Easy to use if you Just want to point and shoot but you can also manually control a lot if you are that way inclined. Viewfinder is handy and so is the flash. If you have the money to spend and wants a good quality camera and don't mind the slightly more bulky shape then this is the one.

G1X is my faver compact camera right now, it can provide excent images and easy to use, for me, a unprofessional user, this one is a really good choose.
however it looks like can not take photos very closely...
enough for me, all good!!!!
