Fantastic camera great new features, easy to master and takes my photograph to a whole new level

This is my first DSLR and I could not be happier. It has all the feature I was after that point and shoots simply do not have, in one package anyway. Auto expose bracketing is great. Just wish it did more than three steps (5 would have been great). Good solid size and grip (for my larger hands this is really good) it feels solid in my hand and I never have an issue holding it. It never feels like it is going to drop by accident.. It has been an excellent first camera which will last me some time for me before I want to upgrade. Also love the fact that i can use SDHC cards not compact flash as all my computers have SD cards in them. Much handier for me. I bought a 16GB SDHC card when I bought the camera and have only managed to fill it twice in that time (522 RAW photos) during photowalks etc. This is where battery is also impressive as I can fill the card and the battery is still going strong. i could probably fill it twice before the battery runs out.

The only cons so far are the lack of weather sealing. Never really knew much about that but obviously it can be an issue. May be the cause of some spots on my sensor after 8 months (of pretty intensive use in all weather conditions). A good clean will fix that though.

The only other issue is the back scroll wheel. It is not as nice and smooth to use like others I have seen. I have seen criticism before on this exact model on this issue. But like all things you get used to it quickly.

Overall very happy with my choice in the end. Great camera, perfect price for me yet not really lacking anything.

I have no regrets for upgrading to this model. I just love it, love the high speed continous feature, screen, ability to shoot short videos. etc etc. Went on a three week wild life safari. Pics are superb. Thanks

Astounded at the quality of image, it captures enormous detail. In particular, so impressed with images taken without flash, especially in the evening with low light... this camera is able to capture images of subjects you are unable to see with the naked eye, just incredible!

The Canon 60D camera fills the gap between the 550D and 7D. The articulated screen allows taking of shots which otherwise would have been either difficult or impossible.

Picture quality and exposure are of a very high standard.

This was my first DSLR purchase.
I did the research and although i didn't really want to fork out big dollars for a pro camera i definately wanted something that was going to accomodate as i keep learning. For the price i found this camera to definately be the best buy.
I found this camera to be very easy to use as i had no preconceived ideas on button layout etc.
Alot of people have said a con with this model is the lock on the mode dial however as i havent owned one before i dont particularly find this a problem.
The display looks awesome as does the HD video.
I purchased the camera online and picked up from the Southport store. Not only was the online experience great i found the sales staff in store were damn helpful aswell.
The creative filters look pretty cool however i havent really found myself using them much. For now I am happier learning to utilise the manual controls.

Even though i am still a beginner i am yet to find a point at which this camera is going to hold me up. The only thing i can see in the future which may leave me desiring more is the FPS rate, however it is alot quicker than anything in its price range so who am i to complain.

This is my first foray into the digital SLR era & I love it!! I've moved on from my Canon AE1-Program (x2 purchases) & T70 (x2 purchases) (both great cameras & all purchased from Ted's). I couldn't stop taking photos on my recent holiday to Bali!!

The picture quality is fantastic, the body has good weight, it looks great, & feels good holding. The screen display quality is excellent with the "flip" out/over screen a great option to have.

The menu system is also very easy to follow & well structured without giving the impression of dumbing down.

Only disappointment is that no leather Canon camera case &/or lense case comes with the purchase. For money spent I can't accept that these products don't come with these accessories like they used to. They are so important to keep camera protected & fit much better than the generic bags.

If I have one concern (& it is yet to be proven true (as it's still brand new)), is that the zoom lens (Canon EFS 18-135mm) moves a little too freely & gives the impression that it can go sloppy over time.

This is a great starting camera for a beginners that want to get into DSLR photography/film.

I really like my new Canon 60D it is a HUGE step up from the previous camera I had which was a Canon 1000D. I’m very pleased with how the 60D holds its self-together the weight of the camera is well balanced out no matter what type of lens is sitting on the body. The quality of the images that I am receiving is outstanding; they are crystal clear and show every detail, which is awesome. The interface of the software that is installed on the Canon 60D is easy to use and the new functions are great, since I was a pervious Canon owner the layout of the software and buttons are reasonably the same. The shutter speed on the Canon 60D is really good, when using the high-speed function I was expecting some of the photos to be dark in clour or blurry, but I was wrong every shot taken was clear and they kept the same clour the whole way through each shot.
I would defiantly recommend this to any one who asks me about this model.

This is my first Dslr and I've had it a month now.
In my hands it feels comfortable. It's light, balanced well with a lens and it has a good grip. My thumb and index finger can reach the dials easily without taking my eyes off the subject.
The menus are pretty easy, but get slightly confusing whentrying to customise buttons
The qiuck menu is awsome. Take a photo, hit the Q buttion and all you adjustment setting for that mode are there to tweek.
Switching between modes is a bit of a bother because you have to hold down a little buttonto turn the dial. Easy enough with small hands though.
Liveview is great and my wife loves that feature. It has a big enough screen, can swivel and has face detection. You can also manually move the focal point with the D-pad. The only down side to Liveview mode is the time the camera takes to focus then shoot.
Overall the 60D takes awsome shots, awsome 1080p HD movies, easy to use in all modes and would recommend this camera to beginners and intermediates alike.

Great camera feels solid and like it will last forever

I am very pleased with a compact setup of L Series 100mm macro with Ringflash for taking 18megapix iris images for iridology anaylsis. Moreover, I'm excited about my future plans to self produce vdo documentaries of my iridology powerpoint presentations using the flipout screen ... which has also demonstrated great stealth closeups in group dynamics.

Since purchasing he Canon EOS 60D I have dabbled in night photography and wildlife photography, and been very pleased with the results. Whilst the camera is quite heavy, and has quite a few more features than my last camera (the 1000D - quite a step up!), I have found it quite easy to use and experiment with.

Fantastic Camera

Very happy with the performance of the camera, a great step up from the point and shoot we used to have. with the Sigma 18-250 lense this has been a very versatile camers. the only complait we have is not getting out to use it enough.

The versatility of the 60D is perfect for those semi-pros who want to capture high res images easily, yet also want the ability to tweak the picture just so. The rotating LCD screen opens a whole new range of creative angles as well as the preset functions when you are pressed for time.

My Canon EOS 500 SLR broke recently after 15 years of good service. I decided to get the 60D (although I flirted with the 7D) as my first DSLR for a few reasons:
1. Basic menu functions are the same as with the SLR
2. I trust the Canon brand after many years of use
3. The price point seemed about right and comparable to what I paid for the SLR
4. Ability to use lenses from my SLR on the DSLR

Because I am a novice DSLR user, I didn't base any of my purchase decisions on the functionality of the camera beyond what I've used previously in SLRs. After a month or so of use I can say that there are a few items that I am happy to have but to be honest I haven't really explored the camera enough to comment.

I bought a Sigma 10-22mm lens to go with the camera as I was about to go on holidays and wanted a wide angle lens to shoot landscapes. I am very happy with this lens and the way that the camera handles it. The landscape mode on the camera is good for use in these situations.

The new function of Auto-without-flash is also very good for situations where you don't want to use a flash but are not sure of the best settings. For example, I'm not used to being able to take photos in really low light, so using this setting is helpful to check what settings I should use.

Overall I am happy with the camera but really need to spend some time to learn all of the functionality completely. Next buy is a 50mm 1.4 or 1.8 lens for inside portraits in low light. Looking forward to getting this to really test the benefit of digital over film.

I'd recommend this camera to a amateur enthusiast. Someone who is beyond basic functionality but not ready to spend the big bucks for 7D capabilities.

Having owned an older generation DSLR I was keen to upgrade to the 60D to get a higher picture resolution and HD video capacity. So far I am impressed, the build quality is pretty good, the list of settings and options is long and most pictures taken have been great. Have been using it for about a month and these are my intial impressions;
Particular good points - as an overall package at this price it seems to represent the best alrounder available currently, the tilting/rotating screen makes taking shots whilst holding the camera at a distance or up in the air much easier, the resolution of my shots is great and the focus pin sharp with EFS and L lenses, the video seems easy to use and the sound quality seems at least as good as my Sony standard Definition handicam which is enough for me.
Negatives- it is taking a bit of getting use to with the increased number of settings on offer but the instruction book and the included canon guides are good, it is a bit heavier than my old 350D but not too bad and lastly on some of the modes particularly portrait it seems to be a want to try and over expose very slightly in mixed light conditions, seems fine on general settings or in manual and probably is just me not having figured things fully out yet so I will keep practicing!

I upgraded from a 350D to the 60D and can say I am stoked with the quality of the camera and the images it takes.

I have used it for outdoor landscapes as well as macro shots and portraits and it has performed flawlessly. The flippy screen is great and has come in handy a few times.

Some of the menu options are not available when in some shooting modes, and this did take some figuring out but overall I would recommend this camera to anyone looking for something more than and basic DSLR.

I find canon 60D is very friendly & im very satisfied with its colours, sharpness & accuracy.
In terms of the body, it is solid & the screen makes me easy to get shots as I can twist the screen with live view & wish it is more wider screen. Overall it is awesome. I will be going back to Teds again to buy more accessories.

Purchased the 60D twin lens pack just before Christmas and took it up to Cairns on our holiday
Was not expecting too much as they were only the standard lenses but I was not only surprised, I was blown away! This is my first DSLR after owning a few SLR's and digital point and shoot camera's and the first thing I noticed was how light this camera is.I use to dread taking the SLR on trips away but the 60D is so light that even with the 18-55 and 55-250 lenses
The 60D is also seriously quick from start up to focus and shoot with great sharp photos and cannot wait to try it out with other lenses. Although the standard lenses do a great job for holiday snaps I think the 60D would excel by adding a 50mm lens and for those into macro photography the 100mm Macro (on my to buy list)
Overall the 60D exceeded my expectations and was every bit as good as the staff at Teds Northland said it was and more and in my opinion worth the extra over the 550D-600D models

bought this camera (with the 15-85mm lens) to take on holidays overseas. takes excellent photos. not too bulky or heavy. my first dslr but very easy to use. highly recommended

I combined this camera with a Tamron 18-270mm lens & i'm wrapt with the outcome. in full auto, operation is very easy & you could leave it there if you wanted. The 'basic' zones (flash-off/creative auto) provide plenty of flexibility for varying conditions & then the 'image' zones provide many more options whilst still maintaining an automatic 'aim & shoot' feel.
The 'Creative' zone then provides you with the ability to use the 60D as you would expect a great SLR to be used (in Program, Manual or bulb modes or by using the shutter or aperture priority settings.
I also purchased an infrared remote & remote shutter release from Teds which has given me the ability to use a tripod to take great family group shots & some sensational time exposure pics.

I upgraded from a Olympus E620 and the improvements are clear. The results are sharper, especially in low light conditions and the autofocus is fast. I had to get used to the bigger weight (I use a 100-400mm zoom with it so it adds up) but with a bit of extra padding on the strap it is ok. The quality of the image on the LCD screen is also impressive.

Have had limited use of it since I bought it, because my husband is using it all the time. I need $200 for deposit on a further body, so we can both use the 60D at the same time!

The Canon 60D is worth every cent. I have been a photo enthusiast for so long and had been wanting to take my hobby to a higher level by getting a SLR camera. I am in no way a professional so I wanted an intermediate level camera rather than an entry level one so that I do not have to upgrade again so soon. The Canon 60D is very user friendly, providing Basic Zone settings and at the same time allows the user to exercise his own creativity with the Creative Zone modes.

The 60D is a great camera, gives great results even for the amateur. I am sold on the ability to connect to the computer and use macro setings to photograph documents with ease whilst using the computer screen.

I am most impressed with this camera, it gives sharp and brilliant colour photos with ease. I also intend to use it for documemt (Macro) photography and like the feature of being able to control/operate it from my computer.

This is my first DSLR and at first was somewhat apprehensive to purchase as I had read some reviews which suggested it was not a beginners camera. I did a photography course through Monash Rotary which greatly assisted me in using the camera and learning the functions and what it can do. I couldn't be happier with my purchase. The camera had a faulty battery which was relaced by Teds - no questions asked, so I was happy about that.

EOS60D offers sensational picture quality. Having been an early convert to the first Nikon Coolpix (which was stunning for its time), the EOS60D is a revelation. Against the light photography is incredible. Photography with this camera is so good, it's like seeing things for the first time. Whilst the combinations and permutations of photographic possibilities with this camera are awe-inspiring, it can be easy to use, particularly if you choose auto. Absolutely solid build quality inspires confidence. I would recommend this camera to anyone looking for picture quality and reliability. I can honestly say that I buy Canon because their products work. I love my new EOS60D.

This camera does it all. Love the speed, and the quality of the images. If your looking to get into photography, this is the camera for you.

Although I am still new to this level of photography, I have been surprised by how easy this camera is to use and the quality of photos that it produces. Still playing with some of the settings but very happy with the results so far. Why did I wait so long?

Just lots of setting that i need to become more familiar with to make that perfect shot even better.
I shall be looking into doing a course on the basics of the camera and move up from there. We have already pucharse more lenses and a flash.
We are just a little bit excited with our new purchase.

With this camera, if you decide to go professional, you aren't pushed to buy a new camera straight away. Plenty of features and very capable for any application.

This camera is such great quality, easy to use on auto and manual modes. Not suitable if you have not used an DSLR but a great upgrade. Worth the money, body feels quite light but once your lens is on it feels more secure.

Even though I am just a beginner with photography, I have fallen in love with my canon, the picture quality is unbelievable, ease of use has amazed me and even though it took me a bit to get used to a bulkier camera I am having so much fun it just inspires me to take more photos !!!

I previously had the Canon 20D, and dragged my heels upgrading to a new updated model because it worked for me and took great photos. I immediately saw a huge difference in my image quality, but with all the bells and whistles I was used to. I would highly recommend this camera to any intermediate casual photographer.

Buying the Canon 60D SLR camera was the second best thing I have done camera wise, the first best thing would have been to buy it much earlier. I come from a compact camera background so I am an entry level dSLRist and my life was pretty simple until I caught the wide angle bug by buying the Panasonic DMC-LX3. OK it's not that wide compared to some of the dSLRs on the market today but it's a fairly decent camera at the top end of the compact cameras back in '09. I was in a dilemma of either getting a lens attached to the LX3 via an adapter or buying dSLR. I went the whole hog and decided to spend my hard earned on a dSLR. So the search began, Nikon or Canon. With all due respect to Nikon owners, the Canon just 'felt better' in my hands! The rest is history. I went for the 60D because I saw it as a middle of the road Canon. Obviously I, like anyone else, would love to go full frame but that's quite a few piggy banks away! I bought the 60D body only and then a basic 50mm f1.8 lens. It was so much fun to use. I then hired a Sigma 10-20mm lens (a 10-22mm Canon was not available) for a day and I am now starting to save for the 10-22mm Canon glass to get that ultra wide angle feel from a crop digital camera. What I most like about the 60D is that it's very easy to use and I learnt it pretty fast and that's a big plus because I don't want to be reading instruction manuals for ever! At the start I was a bit suspect with the the tilty swivelly screen but having used it for stills and especially for videos I find it can be very useful on occasions. Another plus for the screen is that I like the Q button which displays the info at a touch. Unlike other digital cameras, the 60D screen is protected because it can be swivelled around and facing the camera when not in use. I know there is no substitute for a real flash but the one it has fitted does the job at close range. Other than saying that the pictures are clear as a bell, I can't tell you too much technically as I am still learning lots as I go along but as an entry level user, the 60D has exceeded my expectations. In short, the 60D is an easy to use dSLR camera and am loving every shot I am taking and highly recommend it for anyone wanting to get into the world of dSLR photography!

As image quality is the same as for the cheaper 550D, you are paying the extra for the speed of the camera, many several convenient features, better ergonomics. I am happy that I made this choice. You should also know that this is not direct upgrade from 50D as 60D is more sitting somewhere between xxxD and xxD series than directly in the xxD series. For the lower price, I appreciate this fact.

Investing in a new camera was a big decision. After much research and consideration of future needs, I took the plunge and purchased the Canon EOS 60D... and promptly flew to Hong Kong to test it out.
Firstly, the photo quality is amazing and more than exceeds my expectations. From basic point and shoot if you're feeling a tad lazy to a more elaborate photo set up, there's simply no reason why you wouldn't buy one of these beauties. The 60D caught the laser show across Hong Kong harbour with breathless ease and gave my friends and family 'oooh' moments as I forced them to sit through my holiday slide/movie show!
Aside from the perfect image quality, the other aspect I could never do without again is the flexible LCD screen. Professional quality photos at any angle just became a reality to even the most amateur of photographers; flip and twist your screen to suit your vision requirements as you place your camera at weird angles or even around corners.
The only con is the somewhat involved instructions but, to be honest, it can only make you a better photographer as you explore the variety of settings on your new purchase.
The Canon EOS 60D is a fabulous example of modern camera technology and offers any purchaser the opportunity to capture in amazing detail how you see your world. Highly recommended.

To put this review into context, I purchased this camera principally for action sports photography. One "expert" suggested I would be better with a Nikon equivalent as he believed the autofocus was a little faster and the image a little better. However, I just didn't like the feel of the camera in my hand. The 60D just felt right. It's low light performance isn't the best I have seen but it's daylight or studio lit performance is great.

The 5.3fps continuous mode is great and all of the controls are nicely placed, logical and easy to use. The vari-angle monitor is fantastic and this soon going to be a "must have" feature for all competitors. The Live View option, however, is too slow for action sports photography and you will end up using the viewfinder exclusively.

The full HD video capability and performance is out of this world. I wasn't too bothered that it had this when I bought the camera, as I was only ever going to use it for stills. But I am hooked. Being able to add similar amounts of creativity to video as you can to still photography opens up a whole new world to explore.

Whilst the slightly cheaper 600 might give equal performance, the extra spent on the build quality makes this package more durable and the little extra weight makes it more stable in your hand, particularly with some of the faster lenses with their heavy glass. Overall, this is a great camera that is re-igniting my creative side and getting me out looking for photo opportunities. Plenty of setting options means it will takes a bit of work before you master this camera (without relying on Photoshop to correct things) but when you do the results are extremely satisfying (and very profitable).

I purchased this Camera when Teds had a 10% off all Canon's day. As this brought the body of the camera down to the same price range as what the 600D or Nikon D90 would have normally have been, it made sense to buy this camera.

The photo quality is brilliant, and the tilty screen is quite useful. The HD movie mode shoots good quality movie as well.

About my only gripe with this Camera is the after effect features are not as comprehensive as camera's like the new Nikon D5100 or the likes. That being said, Photoshop can do all of these effects afterwards, so it is not a serious downfall.

Have yet to learn proper manual functions so have more options in choosing settings to create the best photos. Will look to a course in the new year. Initially, though (although heavy which is to be expected) am happy with outcomes so far.

Having not used an SLR for almost 20 years, and having put up with a compact for convenience, it was fantastic to return to an SLR - with all the modern touches of a digital camera. We bought an extra lens - EF50ml - and it has added so much to what we can shoot (along with the 'zoom' that came with the camera.
We've been able to take beautiful shots inside without a flash and the video feature is impressive. Still so much to learn about the camera's potential...but fun doing thaty.

This is my first SLR camera, previously using the point and shoot cameras. I love the quality of the pictures, and the quality of the screen to review photos. The camera is a little bulky, however the speed capturing image and quality of images taken out ways this. On a recent trip, we really got to try out the camera, in all sorts of situation and I was very impressed with our results.

An easy to use, yet versatile DSLR. Options for set "modes" like portraits or landscapes, or full automatic (green box) as well as the option to go fully manual, or only control the aperture or shutter speed. Good for beginners to DSLR with enough scope to go that extra step and try manual controls as well.
A great camera - takes awesome photos, and fun to use for the whole family.... Even my four year old has had a go!

We took a lot of photos at a concert we attended. Without flash, and from halfway down the hall, the shots were amazing. We are so happy.

The EOS 60d is great to use even for someone like me who is not well educated on this type of camera.

After almost 2 years of researching DSLR cameras, and not to mention, stalking every photographer I ever saw, we decided to choose the Canon EOS D60. It's a great camera with an extraordinary amount of features (and is going to take a while to learn). Not a beginner camera, more suited to those who already have a DSLR and are looking to upgrade. It takes the most beautiful photos (18 meg pix will do that) in auto mode, yet still has plenty of features if you feel like getting adventurous with your photo taking.
It is jam packed full of features.
Not a light weight camera (the extra lenses don't help with the weight) but it is extremely sturdy. It has a generous 3in screen that rotates for easy viewing, great for getting those shots where you're in a crowd and have to hold the camera above your head, the screen can be angled so you can see exactly what your photographing.
Full HD movies can be recorded. 5.3fps, great for action shots.
An awesome camera and worth waiting for.

This camera has a very ergonomic design to it. All buttons are perfectly placed and easy to reach with your right hand thumb. Thus, it is easy to change settings and review pictures without needing to change the left hand position from the lens to the camera back. The body has a nice size and a well shaped grip that comfortably sits in the hand. Some see a disadvantage in the build materials of the body (not aluminum and magnesium), but I can't agree with that. I prefer the materials on the 60d as it makes the camera a bit more lightweight. Oh and the camera does have a weather sealing by the way! You don't need magnesium to keep your rain out. I think the build quality is really superior!
Image quality is great as well. It has the same sensor as the 550d or the 7d, but seems to have an improved noise reduction. I don't care to much about in camera raw editing, but I do enjoy the 14bit RAW format which is a pleasure when it comes to post-processing in aperture or lightroom. The 60d offers many settings for taking stills, and I can't think of anything that is missing. I really enjoy the wireless speedlite trigger and the +/- 3 stop flash exposure compensation (other cameras have only 2 stops).
Originally I was not to keen about the tilt screen, but now I love it. It is really great for over-head or macro photography! And of course it protects your screen when you carry your camera in a bag.
If you buy this camera, consider the 18-135 or the 15-85 lens. Don't go for a 15-55.

In Summary I can really recommend this camera, and if you are stuck between the Nikon D7000 and the Canon EOS 60D (like I was), just get the Canon. Simply for the ergonomic button layout, the tilt-screen and because you save a view bucks that can be better spent in a qualitative lens!

One of the best.

I recently upgraded to the 60D and honestly was extremely surprised at the big upgrade it is from the T2i. For advanced users, it is more than worth the extra cash. It fits in my hand much better and the controls are easier to access. When using my 50mm 1.4 the 60D focuses much more accurately than my T2i does. I was having a lot of problem with the T2i front focusing, but the 60D has been spot on. I am also very pleased with how it handles my indoor lighting. Shots with my T2i usually turned out yellow when on auto-whitebalance, but the 60D seem to produce much better indoor color.

I decided on the 60D after seeing the benefits over the 600D for not much more, but being very close to the 7D which was much more expensive. The image quality is great and the large viewing screen is great for a quick review. It's very easy to use with all features easily accessible. The manual is easy to read and is very clear. If you're not a professional but need a step up from the introductory level cameras, I think the 60D is great.

This Canon 60D is one of the best, if not best value for money camera's you can buy on the market. I previously have owned a Sony A330 and was simply not satisfied with the image quality (only 10.3MP) or the frame rate (around 2fps) to capture the things that I wanted.

I have only owned this Canon 60D camera for around 6 weeks, but am simply hooked by the quality of images that I am producing using the most basic of lenses. I can't wait to see the image quality once I put on a better lens!!!

Mostly I use my camera for shooting either landscape or fast moving sports photography. Recently I have taken shots of a cricket match that I was involved in and the V8 Supercar event on the Gold Coast. The clarity of the images with the 18.0MP sensor is fantastic, in addition to using the 5.3fps shooting speed helps me capture the fastest of moving objects. The other great benefit was the battery life of the camera, previously I have only been able to get 400-500 shots from a battery, but the 60D's battery has allowed me to take up to around 1500 shots even including the burst mode!!!

I am an amateur enthusiast photographer at best, so I am still working on my techniques to shoot better quality images, but at this rate it will not be long before I can produce similar quality to the professionals!

The camera as it is very unique in a way with the swivel LCD screen incorporated on the camera, providing more possibilities and creation of new angles you can do. With the Canon 60D, it has a 1080p full HD video recording and a in-built mic as well as manual volume for appropriate control. Another thing is the shutter sound is quite different and is quiet to the other cameras such as the 550D. What the 60D can also show you is the great image quality that it has to give to you is quite the liking, it uses a 18MP to capture a digital photograph.

This is my first review and ownership of this camera, there are many things you can do with it but I do recommend this model because simply you can let you creativity and fun go wild!

Bought the Canon 60D just prior to going to Canada earlier this year.
Must say it performed to all expectations -- took about 4000 images without a hitch.
I did purchase a spare battery- just in case- but it wasn't required, although I did use it as an alternate whilst the other battery was charging.
Easy to use, wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

After using an Olympus E520 for a couple of years, it was time for an upgrade. And I'm glad I did! Although I haven't taken heaps of photos with it yet, everyone I have taken have been clear, sharp and pleasing to the eye. The 60D is easy to use but has plenty of features to play with when your feeling creative. I had great fun playing with the exposure settings at Angkor Wat and I'm now just trying to work out where I'm holidaying to next to get the next set of shots.

First DSLR camera, took a little getting used to from a compact camera to SLR. But I am amazed at the image quality. Saving up now for additional lenses.

Very pleased with the photo images - love the image stabilizer lenses and rapid fire. Camera has everything and more that we need. Excellent camera.

It has been so long since I have picked up an SLR as I was fully converted to the digital camera 6 years ago and digital SLR was out of reach to the every day person. I was missing out on so much. Probably still go back to the small compact pocket camera for those big hikes as the SLR is very heavy but I am absolutely loving it.

Happy with the purchase of the Cannon 60D. It takes a little time to get used to the different settings. Once I was comfortable with the camera, the quality of the images are outstanding.

The camera provides great selection of pre-format functions and simple manual functions to produce professional photography effects. Simple to use with quality pictures!

The 60D is a great entry level DSLR. It takes sharp, vivid shots and has heaps of different customisable settings. The only draw back is the size - it's quite heavy to carry around.

Fitted with the Canon 18-200mm IS lens, the rig is very versatile. The wide zoom range is nicely complemented by the comprehensive pictorial feature set of the 60D. And there is always the option for fully automatic point-and-shoot to get a good reliable shot in a hurry. Ideal for the more selective amateur.

It's a bit pricey, yes, but it's definitely worth it when you discover the unlimited things you can do wwith it... My photos has never been the same again! every shot is definitely an art... :)

I have never had a better camera before. When I got the Canon 60D, I found it easy to use and had alot of enjoyment learning the new settings. The quality of the pictures is clear as. As an amiture photographer I recently had the opportunity to take Food shots for a Restaurant advertisment, now they are being use in newspapers, magazines, posters and phamplets. It was all so easy with the Canon 60D.

If you dont like heavy, dont get this. I like the weight for steadiness and the battery life is longer than some marriages. The Canon 60D is great straight out of the box on auto modes. With plenty of practising and twenty re-reads of the manual you can make it do exactly what you want. The depth-of-field preview is brilliant in live-view, you know exactly what's in & out of focus, especially with the live view magnify function. With 1.6 crop factor, a cheap 50mm lens is crisp & fast for portraits.

I chose an 18 - 200ml lens to be more versatile and to eliminate the need for changing lens. I have to say that this is working well for me. I'm always keen to upload the photos that as a rule gives me the 'oh ah' factor everytime. Certainly a excellent choice and I'm a first time digital SLR user.
