Boasting new features such as Scene Intelligent Auto and a selection of five Creative Filters including the new Fish Eye effect, the EOS 600D is Canon‘s most creative and powerful DSLR yet. And for the first time in an entry-level EOS, the new EOS 600D offers a 3 inch vari-angle clear view LCD screen, which helps frame shots from difficult angles. Another exciting new feature for the EOS range is Video Snapshot, formerly only available on Canon Digital Video Cameras. Positioned between the popular EOS 550D and EOS 60D, Canon’s top-of-the-line entry-level DSLR is perfect for those looking to take their creativity forward with ease. “Canon has created the ultimate DSLR with the launch of the new EOS 600D. Combining advanced EOS technology and intuitive features such as Creative Filters and Video Snapshot, this camera is perfect for those wanting to shoot high-quality, high-resolution photos and movies effortlessly,” Chris Macleod, Brand Manager - EOS, Canon Australia”The EOS 600D enables users to easily achieve images and effects generally only possible with more advanced lenses and editing programs,” added Chris.
Creative DSLR photography made easy
Incorporating an array of intuitive and intelligent technologies, like Scene Intelligent Auto, the EOS 600D accurately determines the correct setting, allowing users to capture the best photo in any situation. For the first time in an entry-level EOS, a full range of Creative Filters are available. The five Creative Filters allow users to enjoy different effects, changing the ambience of a photo. For those who want to experiment with their creativity two or more of the Creative Filters can be combined, enabling users to create even more artistic interpretations with their photos. The Creative Filters include Soft Focus, Miniature, Grainy Black and White, Toy Camera and Fish Eye effects. The filters help users achieve creative photography, typically only available with the use of more advanced lenses and editing programs. The EOS 600D also features a high resolution 3.0-inch, 3:2 LCD vari-angle screen, which opens out to the side and rotates 180 degrees. With greater flexibility, photos can be taken from unusual perspectives, including high and low angles and during macro photography.
Astounding image quality
The EOS 600D boasts an 18 megapixel CMOS sensor and Canon’s DIG!C 4 image processor which work together to deliver clear, true-to-life shots at the click of a button. In addition, the EOS 600D features an ISO speed range of ISO 100-6400 (up to ISO 12800) allowing users to capture sharp images by suppressing blurring.
More creative possibilities with EOS Movie
The EOS 600D features EOS Movie with Full HD, for capturing those special moments in high-resolution. For photographers who want more options when shooting video, the EOS 600D now includes Movie Digital Zoom, a first for EOS. Evolving from Canon’s Movie Crop function, users now have the flexibility to digitally zoom up to approximately 10x when shooting video. With the Video Snapshot feature users can also get more creative with their filming and editing. Video Snapshot allows users to shoot footage of a set length of time (a selection from 2, 4 or 8 seconds) and edit memories into a short film, with the added option of background music.
Two new Canon Speedlites and two new lenses for entry-level photographers
Canon has also launched two new standard zoom lenses, the EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II and EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 III. With their compact and lightweight design they are ideal for entry-level users who want sufficient zoom range for everyday photography. With a high-precision aspherical lens, which corrects aberrations, capturing clear images is effortless. The EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II also features an Image Stabilizer which gives the equivalent effect of a shutter speed of approximately four stops faster. In addition to this, Canon has introduced two new compact and lightweight Speedlites for entry-level photographers, the Speedlite 320EX and 270EXII. For the first time on a Canon Speedlite the new 320EX will feature a built-in LED light on the front of the flash body making it easy for users to illuminate subjects when shooting movies.
Both the Speedlite 320EX and 270EXII feature a flash release function which enables easier wireless shooting. The new Speedlites enable photographers to mount the camera on a tripod and manually operate the flash, adjusting the lighting direction whilst also having the capability to activate the camera shutter remotely from the flash unit

We purchased the camera the day before we left on our Honeymoon. With no practice or time to get used to the camera we were instantly taking some great shots. We are so happy with how each shot has turned out. Even the shots we took on the move turned out amazing. The camera's Auto function makes taking the perfect picture a breeze, but when we wanted to get creative the different levels of Manual control were great and easy to follow for beginners like us.

The camera took really good shots in auto intelligent mode in both day and night shots taking the guess work out of the photography. It was a good buy for an amatuer learning the ropes. The creative mode on aperture priority rewarded me with some crystal clear expressions on the face of my cocker spaniel which were good enough to print and frame.Very happy with my choice

I am very happy with this camera. It takes great shots quickly and I can easily switch from an automatic mode to one where I have a bit more control over the focus. I am not a proficient photographer but this camera makes me feel like one. I thought for years about which camera to buy and it was a toss up between this camera and the equilivant from Nikon. I am pleased overall that I bought the Canon, I think it may be easy for someone who isn't that proficient (and to be honest - doesn't really want to be) with the manual features to use. I am happy also with the Total Care Package, which is one of the reasons I bought from Ted's. Pretty much a green light from me on this camera. The only drawback is that it's bulky - but they all are.

Purchased camera and departed for Germany and Switzerland a week later so my chance to learn the controls and practice was very limited. And graduating from the simplicity of slides, for a mere 'enthusiast-level' DSLR there was still a lot to learn! Nevertheless I found the Canon easy to use and gradually learned to take advantage of more and more options. I'm very happy with the results. The lens (28-135) is all I expected (love the image-stabilizer) and the exposure meter is a wizard. Especially impressed with fine grain at low-light/high ISO settings. Some reviews suggested it would over-expose on very bright subjects but i found that even on a glacier with nothing but snow in view and full sun I found it hard to improve on the metered settings. Focus in real-time mode is slow but I wasn't taking video so it didn't bother me. The only improvement I can think of would be two chips - one for stills and one for video ah-la the D7000 Nikon.

As my first DSLR I would recommend this to other beginners. It is easy to use and all settings are literally at your fingertips. This means changing settings is fast, giving you more time to experiment with shots. Once you understand what the settings are you have enormous creative capability.
The battery life is also commendable, I can take around 1,000 shots before the battery needs changing, this includes using the built in flash on occasion and looking through my photographs. I have found that once the battery has only the one small bar left, this is an indication that it will be depleted soon.
The 550D is not a heavy DSLR and so I find it easy to take with me on walks etc.
I would recommend getting the twin lens kit as this gives you more creative ability as well as providing you with options. Having two lenses also enables you to learn which lens would suit a certain situation or effect.
This camera is great for beginners and I do not see the need to upgrade in the near future. This camera can double as an intermediate.
I love my Canon EOS 550D, I would never go back to a ‘point and shoot’.

Some of my work mates are extremely jealous of my Canon 600D!! Still learning to use all the features but have narrowed down some of the more useful features fairly quickly. First shot was taken into the sun and the apeture control ensured subject was correctly exposed. A more recent shot taken of a coloured family against a darkening backgound was also no challenge with the flash working a treat and correct exposure of the subject. And uploading to Facebook was a breeze!!

Though similar to the Canon EOS 550D, the EOS 600D's is distinguished by a hinged rear door behind which is the menu and picture display screen. The screen can be reversed for permanent viewing. An advantage of the fold-away screen is that it protects the surface of the screen from scratches and other damage. This is important as Canon, unlike Nikon, does not offer an after-market protective cover for the screen.
The body of the 600D has a superior, more tactile feel to that of the 550D, although some buyers may query whether the combined benefits of the fold-away screen and the better feel of the camera justify the substantial price difference of more than 40 per cent.
Photo quality using the optional EFS 17-85mm IS lens is excellent, with JPEG images (when set on 'fine large') being in the order of 8-10MB. This provides ample scope to rework images without loss of quality. The camera is very effective when taking photos in low light, and high ISO settings (800 plus) produce relatively little noise, which enables enlargements to be made with very good results.

I have been very impressed with the Canon 600D and Teds Camera Store in the Canberra Centre. Knowledgeable and helpful staff willing to go that extra mile to sell a quality camera.
Now that I've used the camera for the past six weeks in a wide range of conditions I would never look back on committing to buying this camera or recommending it to anyone.
While it is a bit heavy, large, it's a small price to pay (also it's my first DSLR so maybe I'm just getting use to it).
In short, buy it! I doubt you'll be disappointed.

I got this as my first DSLR mostly because of the full HD video and the flip-out screen. The image quality is great and video too. I like the flip-out screen because when you put your eye up to take a picture you can flip it out so it doesn't get smudges from your face. If you are choosing this camera between a 550d or a 1100D i would highly recommend this one as the flip out screen makes it much easier for video recording and also getting shots from wierd angles.

I am a beginner photographer exploring an interest. This camera is exactly what I needed - easy to operate, user friendly and plenty of opportunity for me to grow as a photographer with this unit.
Battery life is fantastic - I am frequently pulling the camera out to "play" with, and I use the viewing screen often, and still managed to get well over 3 weeks out of the battery. I am thrilled with this!!
Everything about this camera is great - ease of operation, battery life, picture quality, and quality of the unit.
I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending this camera to others.

this is a fantastic camera, one of the best things is the high quality lcd screen makes it very easy to review your photos and navigate the menu very sharp & easy to read. As you turn the main dial for shooting modes on screen will give you a brief discription of what each mode does, this is very handy as you do not have to take your manual with you all the time.I have found it very hard to take a bad picture with this camera even while exploring the different modes and seeing what they can do. I would highly recommend this camera plus it takes hd movie, easy to use with flip out screen

WINNING!!!
I am so happy to get as much as i have from this camera for such a reasonable price.
the canon eos 600D is one of those products that you feel satisfaction in using,
smooth operation and great results from a flexible manual operating system.
The camera is quick and reliable and its feels nice in your hands, its not too heavy either.
Battery life is great and filming in HD in up55 frames per second is great for capturing
moments of action.
For its price i highly recomend this camera. I spent a lot of time comparing other brands at similar prices but the EOS range clearly stacked on top of the competitors.

I am a first time photographer and purchased the Cannon D600 to learn with. Although I had basically no understanding of how SLR cameras worked, I found this camera relatively simple to figure out. The features are captioned in most places to help you find out which settings do what, and if this is annoying for experienced users then this feature can be turned off in the menu.
On the other hand this camera is not just a beginner camera, the cameras features are plenty advanced for an intermediate user and with the vast range of lenses and filters that can be added to the D600 it certainly wouldn't leave you wanting more in a hurry.
The picture quality is brilliant and using RAW images certainly makes a massive difference when it comes to photoshopping the images.
The flip screen on this camera is a major advantage too, it can allow you to see the image or video you are taking when videoing or shooting in difficult positions so you never miss a great shot.
I didn't give full marks for image quality, or battery life, but this is only really because I think that these can always be improved.
Overall I am very happy with this camera, it is a perfect happy medium between a starter camera and a pro camera and is easy to learn on. I got an amazing deal on this camera, a tripod, and loads of other bits at Ted's Camera's so without sounding to much like an advertisment, I would advise asking them for a deal if you plan on purchasing :)

This camera is definitely worth the money. It's not complicated to use, has some great features and has superb image quality. Though it may be a little bulky, I find the bigger the camera, the easier it is to hold onto and use (good grip too). The screen is a perfect size and the screen rotation comes in very handy when shooting from different angles. I found the "live view" mode useful as well. It takes great videos, but the only thing I noticed was the focus. When taking snapshots and whilst videoing, the camera takes a while to focus and in some cases won't focus until you move the camera further away from the subject. But thumbs up for the battery life and memory space on the computer. Once you learn the ins and outs, it is a really fun camera to play around with, especially when creative shooting and filming.

Recently I purchased the Canon 600D from Ted's Camera House Erina Fair and I just love it. It is lighter than other cameras, got great picture quality and it's super fast. The included software was straight forward and I have produced some very professional shots with my limited skills. I spent a lot of time researching which camera to buy and I'm certainly not disappointed with my choice.

The recent purchase of the D600 Canon is my first entry into digital photography and I'm finding it to be an easy and simple camera to use. I've had many years of experience with previous Canon film cameras, the last being the 50E. The 600 is more compact and simpler to use with many more functions available to me through the digital process. My next purchases which will go somewhere towards completing my kit are a 10-20 wide angle lens, a good tripod and an infrared remote shutter release. The assistance and demonstration of the camera, given by the staff member at Ted's Knox City, assured me that my decision to purchase the D600 with the 18-200 lens was the right one.

As a digital compact owner since giving up on 35mm SLR, I was excited to get back into SLR with this acquisition. The camera is a delight in terms of its picture and build quality. The ability to incrementally control some, or absolutely all, SLR camera functions, including focus points, gives a creative control to the photographer which simply does not exist on digital compact cameras. That said, I am surprised that digital SLR “Live View mode” has such limited functionality (eg, inability to focus other than still subjects). I am using the ‘old technology’ viewfinder much more than the LCD monitor.

Love, love, love my new camera. Could not be happier with the quality of the photos it has taken. I especially love that my screen flips out. Ten out of ten.

It's was quite difficult for me to choose between 600D and 60D (I only want cameras with a swivel screen). But the fact that 60D was not available until March2012 (coz of the heavy flood in Thailand), I had to buy 600D. Now I'm very happy with it.
PROS:
My 600D satisfies all of my requirements in photography so far : from the ease of use, "customisability", compactness to image quality. Image quality is great in all photography modes that I often do from portrait, landscape, fast moving kids to low light conditions. In addition, it is much cheaper and lighter than a 60D.
The articulating screen is what you cannot miss if you want to shoot flowers very low on the ground, or to shoot the performers in the middle of a crowd when you have to raise your arms really high. It is also perfect for shooting self portraits.
Some disadvantages compared to 60D are actually no problems at all for non-professional photographers. In particular:
1) 3.7fps (5.4fps in 60D) sounds a bit slow. I really worried about this before buying it as I really love taking photos of my daughter running or dancing around. But I found it is actually fast enough. It also depends on the shutter speed setting.
2) People said 60D has a better build quality but I feel no any problem with my 600D. Very sturdy, and comfortable in my hand. No any feeling of low quality at all. In fact, the plastic case reduces the weight of the camera, which is really convenient in a long trip.
3) Setting LCD on top makes 60D look more professional than 600D but I don't think I need it at all. The full view in main LCD screen gives much more information.
4) Number of cross-type focus points: 1 in 600D vs. 9 in 60D. Of course this makes 60D focuses faster than 600D but I found no problem in focusing speed at all in my usual photography modes (listed above).
CONS:
The only negative point of 600D is battery life. Said to be enough for 500 still images. Sounds not too bad, but must be very careful with shooting video. When shooting video clips you must use the main LCD screen which consumes a lot of energy, and it kills the battery so fast. A fully charged battery ran out after nearly 200 images and only 30min video when I was in Werribee Zoo last month.
However, buying a second battery is a really easy solution for this. Changing battery takes maximum 15 second, so the problem will be completely solved.
Overall, I'm very happy with my 600D. I will use it at least a few years before moving to something more professional like 5D or 1D.
(Don't think that getting a 60D, 7D or 5D mark II can make your photos better if you don't use a good lens or having good skills.)

This is a great camera for someone looking to buy their first DSLR. With the feature guide and easy to navigate menu system you will be shooting in full manual in no time.
The camera is a currently the most advanced camera in the entry level range, replacing the 550D and offering the addition of a Vari-Angle LCD Screen.
The kit lenses are great but because of the camera's great low price, it might be a good idea to splash out on an L series lens if you can afford it.

The image quality is unbelievably great, especially when taking pictures of still subjects. The swivel screen is a very handy and feature, and the flash is also impressive. However, in comparison to other cameras (including other Canon products), the Menu takes a while to get used to and understand, and the auto-focus is not very good when taking pictures close-up.
Altogether I'm very happy with this camera - it definitely exceeded my expectations.

Im only new to photography and I did plenty of research on http://www.dpreview.com/.
I was tossing up between the Canon EOS 60D and the 600D and I went with the one that appeared to be better value. So far Im very happy with the camera and it has pretty straightforward to use, although I still have plenty of features to try yet.

We are loving our new camera and are looking forward to when our bonus manual arives so we can really make the most out of its numerous features. One of the features we have really liked has been the ability to turn the screen around and move it out of the way to keep it clean while using the view finder. The menus are easy to navigate and once we learn more about the many functions we will make use of the creative and manual settings.

We love the pronounced softness of the Canon image, and were not getting enough from our smaller Canon PowerShot (naturally). I had to go through the manual to initially setup the 600D, and now I get those magical moments. My only 3 gripes are:
1. It isn't easy to abort the flash. With the Powershot you simply hold the flash pop-up down and the camera knows not to use it. If I do this with the 600D, it shows an error message and needs to be turned off and on. Some presets seem to be fixed with flash set to "Auto", so I am restricted to a few presets. However, it may be a matter of acquiring the knowledge of doing it.
2. The above indicates the 600D is not exceptionally intuitive, not even to an engineer (me) who deals with electronics every day...
3. There are 3 "click" options to set the speed of response, and while they provide some flexibility of operation, none are fast enough to my liking. But I suppose that's what you get when you buy an entry-level DSLR.
Overall, we are very happy with this camera.

I love the Canon 600d! It's easy to use once you get the hang of it and easy enough to leanr if you're just starting out with a SLR. The picture quality is amazing. The battery life is okay, but it would be better if it lasted longer. The battery life runs out quicker especially if you're shooting in video mode. But other than that, the camera is spectacular. I love it.

Has amazing image quality in colour and definition. The wireless flash capability with a Speedlite 430 EXII allows for some really creative flash photography. The camera is larger than my old Powershot Pro but is easy to steady and handle. Has lens image stabiliser and autofocus making my life easy. It powers up, focuses and adjusts quickly. Unlike the old Powershot Pro the creative presets: action, landscape and portrait are almost as good as doing it manually at least until I learn how... The ability to take continuous shots is really awesome.... really enjoying this camera.

Great DSLR for beginners. My first DSLR so I'm not sure how it compares to others, menus are pretty straight forward and buttons are all in good places. Seems to take great pictures, although this can be dependant on the quality of lens used too. I have the Canon 50mm f1.8 II which is a must have for everyone, cheap at under $150 but really is an amazing lens for the price.
Although on the 600D the crop sensor makes the 50mm more like am 80mm which is great for portraits but can be a bit awkward and the lens doesn't focus that close, but that's a different story.
The camera takes great video (50fps @720p, 1080p @24 and 25fps and some standard Def that I don't care about) with fully manual settings. Has an up to 10x zoom crop (basically zoom without losing any quality)
Battery life is lacking a bit but I plan to get a battery grip and an extra battery anyway.
Overall very happy with the camera, just make sure you get a PROPER class 10 memory card like a Sandisk Extreme or Extreme Pro, especially if you're taking video and shooting RAW burst mode. I got a patriot LX class 10 which can not handle video @ 50fps and 24fps is a bit touch and go.
Would recommend this camera for starting out in photography. My next camera will be a full frame like the 5D or something.

It has been years since i have used an SLR camera, the last time film was the only medium available. over the years i have had a variety of compact film and digital cameras, and had convinced myself that this was adequate.
Getting the opportunity to step up has made me realise what i had missed for the past many years, and has reinvigorated my desire to take photos.
The Canon 600D is the logical step up camera, providing all of the features of a point and shoot, making it easy for all of the family to use. But also providing a rich feature set in an affordable package that allows me to extend the boundaries of my ability.
/the compact size of the camera makes it a snap to take away for a day trip or more extensive travel. The battery life ensures that i am not going to run out of shots for days. And the array of features that are so intuitive and easy to use blows me away.
Moving up to the Canon 600D has been worth every dollar and the advice and service from Ted's helped me make the right decision.

The image quality and ease of use of this camera is fantastic. We have never owned a DSLR before and have found the transition so easy thanks to all the automatic features. There are also all of the manual settings which once we become more familiar with the camera will have the option of using, which was one of the reasons we purchased this particular camera.
The proof is in the pudding and the photo's we are getting as very amateur photographers are brilliant, which no doubt is all thanks to the camera! It has definitely been the best purchase we have made in ages!

After spending a few months comparing cameras, I bought the Canon 600D. It's my first DSLR so I spent some time reading the easy-to-follow manual and now rarely use it on auto settings. It's been used for sports, parties and everyday photos and I'm very happy with the ease of use and the clarity of the photos. Purchased it with the twin lens kit and have since added a 50mm lens. I use all three lenses depending on the situation. My teenage daughters use the camera also and find it easy to operate. Have recommended the camera to several friends already.

I have taken this camera on three trips now. On a 4wd trip to QLD coast national parks it did the job very well. Compared to my old EOS350D its autofocus was more accurate, the camera was even more responsive and it has a higher resolution AND it can take true HD videos. With its tilt and swing screen it made photographing some tiny plants a breeze. Popping on my old tele lens for wildlife worked well.
The 18-55mm kit lens is of excellent quality for its size and cost, but to reduce the lens swapping and gain a little extra quality, I then replaced the kit lens with a 15-85mm lens which complements this camera very well for travel and allows a single lens outfit with that extra width for interiors and a useful tele range.
My next trip was to China for three weeks. Compared to my point and shoot friends, I did have to carry around a small camera bag, but this also held my valuables and was always over my neck. Several of the party were pick-pocketed but my side/front bag was safe. I could take excellent night shots where others just had a blur. I could take the expression on a person in an instant while the compact brigade missed while waiting for focus. Out of the bus window, I could shoot the family of four on the motor-scooter as we flashed by and get instant focus and framing. I was very glad to have the 600D.
Finally, I visited the Temora air-show a week ago and the camera was a joy to use. Every shot was in excellent focus. Friends with other cameras just gave up in the very bright sun. The optical view finder on a fast focusing SLR is essential for this sort of trip. That allowed me to capture the Roulettes doing their head on crossover right in centre frame.
In summary, the camera has done everything I asked on three very different trips. For an SLR it is very compact and lightweight and the high quality 15-85mm lens works brilliantly for travel. If an even lighter outfit is needed, the kit lens can go back on. The camera has also been excellent for capturing family moments.

Battery is not bad, picture quality is good,, its easy to use, articulated screen good for video recording. overall I'll give 7.5 out of 10.

I have a Canon EOS60D. My wife & I were so impressed with the photographic quality & ease of use that we decided to purchase an additional camera to allow us to pursue our newfound photographic interests together. Based on previous experience Canon was our chosen brand & after researching several models we found the Canon EOS600D to be the ideal camera for my wife as it gave results every bit as good as the Canon EOS60D without, as my wife put it, 'the extra scary bits' & a saving of a considable amount in comparison. After having her new Canon EOS600D for only a few short weeks my wife uploaded one of her photos of a humpback whale breaching, which she had taken on a recent Whale Watch Tour with SeaWorld Tours, to Canon Australia's Facebook wall & was pleasantly surprised, 2 days later, to be informed that she was selected as Photo of the Week. Says a lot for ease of use as well as my wife's newly acquired skills! We look forward to adding to our range of lenses & other equipment to get the most from these excellent examples of modern technology! Not scary at all, get out there, buy a Canon & enjoy the experience of capturing nature at it's finest. The ONLY way to shoot nature!

Was looking a some of the lower Canon models but the 600D avoided the compromises of these models for a minimal additional outlay. The image quality is excellent - performing well in many different lighting conditions. Also happy I avoided the kit lenses and went with a Tamron Di II 18-270 lens - only have to carry one lens now and it performs very well throughout its working range. Quality of captured video is great also. The Canon 600D and Tamron 18-270 are a fantastic combination and work brilliantly together.

It took me a while to decide which DSLR i would get but i finally settled on trying the Canon 600D. I bought this from Ted's and they gave me the best deal for this camera and all my accessories. This is my first DSLR camera after getting all the use i could out of my small Lumix digital Camera. So far, although i think i still have a lot more exploring to do with my camera, i am extremely happy with my purchase! A few of the main perks about owning this model is that it is a nice in between from beginning to professional, and the camera is simple enough to use but also has some challenging aspects to bring out your creative side and experiment a little more. Also, having a flip out screen and live veiw is extremely handy, especially when taking photos at a concert or when your too lazy to crouch down onto the floor to get a good angle. The 600D also shoots at 3.7 frames per second, which is a nice enough speed to get a good number of photos in for more creative works. it also has the creative filters section built in to the camera so you can experience a little what it might be like to own a fish-eye lens for example (not quite the same as the lens itself but it is an okay attempt), without having to fork out that extra money for the full lens. Another perk of owning this camera is the full HD recording that is available which comes in handy for any event. All in all the 600D is highly recommended if you aren't a beginner in photography and want to get to professionalism without forking out that extra few grand.

I bought the EOS 600D (and 50mm 1.8 portrait and 18-135 zoom lenses) the day before our son was born (child 4). I am a novice and have not owned a digital SLR before, but years ago used film SLRs. I have mostly used the 50mm lens to take portraits of the children and family. The quality (mostly indoor without flash) is fantastic - and pics have been complimented by friends and family around the globe. We have distributed in all formats, from Facebook to 8x10 prints. Camera is intuitive and have found experimenting with effects fun and easy.

My EOS camera is the best i love using it and the quality of photos and video are outstanding i have recommend it to many friends instead of other brands like Nikon, for an advanced camera it is relatively easy to use, enjoy the camera to have a bit of bulk so it is easy to use, i recently went overseas and the amount of people that had a canon eos around their neck was amazing so i think that about sums it up AMAZING!

Ever since i bought this camera in May 2011 it's been awesome! I've taken it on two holidays and got plenty of quality snaps. I also took a fair few photos at a MTB event and it was good with sport shots. I've yet to discover/use all the features properly, but will in due time. The only con i can think of is the slowish burst rate, but it's a small camera [it's no 1DX ;)] I've had no malfunctions with it and i hope it serves me well until I feel the need to upgrade in the future.

It was a tough choice initially between the 600D and the Nikon D5100 but it was the screen clarity of the 600D that won in the end. This being our first SLR since using a RICOH KR5 Super film SLR it took a little bit of getting used to at the start but with a little help from friends setting it up it is now quite easy to use. We purchased the twin lens kit which has been a good start and the 55-250mm lens has been really quite good for bird shots although we are sure a more expensive lens will improve this even more. Low light shots are a marked improvement on our previous digital camera that always seemed to miss the moment and be very grainy even with a flash. We have recently purchased a 60mm Macro lens which has produced some excellent quality plant shots. The only con we have found is the menu system could be a bit more user friendly but overall we are very happy with our pruchase and would highly recommend it to any amateur photographer.

Lovely camera:)) beautiful photos, never had a dslr before & have needed to learn the features correctly.
Disapointed that when you purchase from Teds they did not include a basic course on the introduction of use for the camera :( MICHAELS CAMERAS do offer this - Recommend the camera only not Teds Cameras.

I have not had the use of an SLR camera before buying this one. If you want a camera to just pick up and shoot, then this is it. It boots up in seconds and I have only charged the battery twice in 2000 photos. I took photos in day, night, indoors and of fireworks and they all look fantastic (all with the automatic settings). Can't wait to learn the manual settings. The moveable screen is great if want to shoot from different angles

I bought my Canon 600D about 6-7 months ago and I am loving it. The image quality is superb and it feels just right in my hands. The different modes are easy to use and the quick review of what each setting does is very helpful for a beginner dslr user. I do have some problems at time with video recording but that can easier be solved with a faster recording rate memory. Sadly the battery wil only last you for one day if you like taking lots of photos like me.

Love this Camera !! - took it on holidays the day after buying it and the quality of the photos is amazing . having the package deal with standard and zoom lens gave us a great array of photos - the sports mode is fantastic for action shots.
We have not even scratched the surface of all the functions available - but so far , it has been a very user friendly camera and and now travels everywhere with us .

The image quality from the Canon 60D is truly exceptional. High definition video quality makes home movies look like professional films easily however sound quality is average. For a DLSR it is compact and quite lightweight. Controls are not as easy to use as other Canon models I've used in the past however it doesn't take a camera wizz to figure them out with a bit of time!

This is my first DSLR and I must say I’m very happy with my purchase. I find the camera very easy to use and produce really great pictures, despite my limited photography skills! It sits comfortably in my hand and all main controls are within easy reach. I like the flip out LCD screen as it gives me more flexibility for different photo angles. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is considering getting their first DSLR.

The 600D is so easy to use and offers great flexibility, I can shoot in full auto (too "busy: to think at a BBQ) or semi or full manual when I want to get more creative. I have some fantastic results with the 18-135mm kit lens and have added a 100mm F2.8 macro lens which works even better when there is low light indoor and of course for getting close up.
The menu system on the 600D is comprehensive but also intuitive and simple to learn, I was switching modes like a pro on the day one. The button layout just makes sense, it seems like my fingers/thumb are on the right button at the right time to make quick adjustments.
I love the high end camera features like auto bracketing and adjustable flash strength.
This camera does everything that I need it to do - for now... :-)

Its Wonderful to use, I'm a fashion student and I use it all the time to display my garments on the net and and in my folio.
When I walk around in brunswick, I can just see it, what will look good and I take a photo and with the old architecture its just a bonus for me, I just love taking photos.

With two young kids i realized i needed to get a bigger and better camera to capture their every growing moment. The camera i purchased has been so great for everyday use, and i love the fact that i am capturing all those special moments in life and i have them to treasure forever. I love that i can take so many frames per second on the continuous shooting, and the quality of the pictures are unbelievable. I still have a lot to learn but i am very happy i made the switch to an SLR and i am very happy with my camera purchase.

At first look it appears complicated. But within 1 hour of handling, the logical layout appeals to the user. Quality for an advanced entry level is surprisingly high. The manual and camera, by virtue of the available settings, impart knowledge of photography. The settings suggest better composition to the user via exposure settings, lighting, subject matter etc. I am extremely glad that I went for this camera because of the value for money, build and image quality, and confidence that the camera imparts to me in my photographic journey. This is a very good beginning. Thank you for the guidance I received when I came in to purchase a camera.

I bought the 600D as an upgrade to my previous camera, which was a Nikon D40x. I have to say the image quality is very crisp and clear, but the images do have a different character to the Nikon's.
I found the 600D's images to be sharper and generally brighter (sometimes a bit overexposed) than the Nikon's. Both brands have very similar standards when it comes to image quality, so it comes down to the individual and their preference as to what is the better one.
The movie function is excellent. Movies are good quality and the inbuilt microphone is quite acceptable.
For landscape photos this camera is fantastic. It really brings out detail and contrast in the landscape.
In low light settings the images are also excellent. Even at high ISO levels the 600D's performance is extremely impressive.
There are plenty of options for manual control, however the menus can be slightly overwhelming with some of the camera functions deep within the menus. It is not the easiest camera to set up manually.
The auto settings work well - no complaints there.
Finally, the live view is a good feature but auto focus when using the live view is very slow. You're best to stick to the old fashioned viewfinder for fast shots!
Overall a very good camera and I would happily recommend it.

Build Quality: ***** ( 5 stars ) I found the Canon EOS 600D very user friendly and practical camera. I am currently in South Africa with my family. I have been taking photos as we travelled around the city of Johannesburg from the car the image quality was excellent. Some of the photos I have been taking using auto focus and non auto focus the result still brilliant.
Value Of Money: This camera is excellent in regards of value of money.

The 600D is a really good camera. It is smaller than the full body cameras I tried before buying it. It falls easily to the hand and mounts well. It takes better photographs than I can. It makes you want to expand your capabilities and experiment with what is achievable. The video function is great and with the Canon 18-135mm lens there isn't any shake or wobble. I bought a Tamron 70-300mm from Teds and while it is not as good as the Canon lens it makes the camera very versatile, especially for wildlife photography. Being able to adjust the ISO so easily makes being able to use the camera in low light is really easy. Considering I had the money to buy more expensive equipment I am very happy with the 600D.

I went from the 450d > 600d and the 600d has been a nice upgrade from my old 450d. I upgraded primarily for the larger LCD screen on the rear and the video capabilities, otherwise I feel that the features between the two are pretty similar. Despite the plastic outer I find it still feels very solid to hold and operate and with the addition of the hand grip (separate accessory) makes it a really nice size in my smallish female hands.

Canon approach in instruction manual is to describe what can be done with camera, and for each case, where to find the necessary items in menus. This contrasts with Nikon approach of describing each menu and what each item on it does. Am still becoming used to the Canon approach. Results obtained so far are mostly good. Autofocus seems somewhat tricky due to range of methods available, and evidently needs study and practice - I usually use manual focus.

I went out on a film shoot that involved me getting up on a ladder and shooting a God's-eye -view of the action. We had a Canon 5D MKII on set and we had my Canon 600D on set. Sure, the 5D MKII shoots at full-frame and has generally better colours - but from a purely mechanical point of view, the 600D is just a better device. I wouldn't have had this shot without this camera.
The flip-out and rotating LCD screen is a gift from above and the in-built flash is fantastic for users that haven't forked out for an additional speed light flash. The stock lenses are fantastic, though one would probably want to get some prime 50mm lenses for some creatively driven shots. The buttons layout is easy to learn and easy to use - to the point that picking up another camera renders the new device entirely foreign. The device is light, easy to carry around and perfect for beginners, roaming photographers and freelance media workers.

Easy to use once you get used to all the features, and only bulky when using a big lens. The EOS 600D has excellent exposure quality even in difficult lighting and the pictures are clear and sharp. It also has full HD movie which I make good use of. The movies look great on PC and television.

The 600d will more than impress. As good as most people will ever need and I cannot see what more expensive models could possibly offer above this that anyone would need. My photos so far have impressed all that have seen them and has now made me the "official" photographer!
The fold out screen is good, not so much for its flip use as for the fact that it protects the screen from scratches and impact when closed on itself.
I was hoping that being HD Video I could do away with my video camera, but although it will film clear video what they dont tell you is that it doesn't auto focus if panning and zooming and when it tries to it focuses in and out and is quite noisy. So if you wish to video you can, just turn off auto focus and hold camera steady whilst filming.
As for lens options, I'm very happy that I went with the single 18-200 over the twin lens combo as changing lenses on the go would prove to be a pain and result in lost photo opportunities. The lens isn't much bigger and is better quality than the individual (kit) items. All in all I should have bought one years ago but glad I have this one. I do recommend the 600d with 18-200.

I am really enjoying 'learning to drive' my first digital SLR. The Canon 600D takes beautiful photos. I can 'auto' it (to differing degrees) if I'm in a real hurry or I can play with different functions to get the effect I want. Looking forward to taking it on an OS trip at the end of the year.

I've really enjoyed exploring the world of Photography with my Canon 600D. It's very easy to turn on Automatic mode and just rapidly, fire away shots with excellent quality straight from the box. It allows you to slowly learn about more and more features in your own time, and provides an exhaustive number of features and functions to keep you busy. However, as any DSLR, it can be a bit bulky, especially with all the lenses. I also bought a 50mm F1.8 lens with my Twin Lens Kit, for the sharpness and bokeh effects, and it has provided some really nice shots so far.
The fact that you can take video, is a bonus, the quality is sensational, and dependent on the lens chosen, but focusing can be difficult, especially in low light. It also means you'll record noise if manually focusing whilst recording. A dedicated video camera has marginally worse picture quality, but far easier to use in more scenarios.
Consider getting a super zoom lens instead of a twin lens kit; I couldn't get over the fact the quality wouldn't be as good as separate wide angle and telephoto zooms, but for everyday shots it would probably have been good enough and means no need to change lenses to get that elusive shot.

Nice camera with lots of features, too many to remember. Love the big size screen and the ability to swivel at any angle. Great to take overhead shots. Battery life last longer than I expected. Still learning about the camera and finding new exciting features.

Alan sold me the camera in the first place at your Chadstone Store. I went back and saw Regie and bought another lens, Both salesmen were extremely helpful, very happy with the service and what I bought.

i think that the Canon 600d is a great camera for somebody who is interested in getting into DSLR cameras, it is really easy to use and takes great quality pictures. The rotating screen that has been added to the 600d is a great feature and something that really makes the camera. The 600d was my first DSLR camera and it has been a great camera for me to get started with.
Thanks TED :)

I've used a 350d for years before upgrading recently to the 600d, wow what a difference. On every level the camera is at such a high level of performance. It's the perfect camera before stepping up to pro cameras. I'm thrilled with the quaility of my photos and the easy of use. I've even improved with the new camera as it has some many more easy to use functions. Love it.

This camera is great for your first or second DSLR it provides amazing image quality and a big screen and it also tilts around so its great for video at 1080p. If your looking for an upgrade from a compact camera and getting into photography more this is the way to go.
